The ITS Country Engagement unit (ITSCE) delivers digital support for global and country-specific products, supports systems aligned with the new Country Engagement model, and provides geospatial solutions for geo-tagging of projects to improve spatial visibility and impact tracking. It also drives the delivery of AI-powered business solutions to support business priorities and accelerate data-driven decision-making across the institution.ย

ITSCE is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Lead to support the delivery of the unitโs capital work program on technology solutions tailored to regional and country operations to ensure technological support for regional and country-level strategies.ย
Specific Responsibilitiesย
- Lead the technical delivery of the following capital assets in the Global and Country Products product line: Country Workspace, Mission Management, Third-Party monitoring, Field data collection, CPF modernization, CPIA modernization.ย ย ย
- Plan the strategic technology advisory to business units, supporting the adoption of new business models and Digital Public Goods.ย
- Serve as the primary technical authority, make critical architectural decisions and guide the technical direction of projects and products.ย
- Design and review system architecture, establish coding standards and best practices, and mentor junior and mid-level developers.ย ย
- Evaluate new technologies, conduct technical risk assessments, and ensure code quality through reviews and technical oversight.ย
- Break down complex technical requirements into actionable tasks, collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions, and lead technical discussions and decision-making processes.ย ย
- Serve as the escalation point for challenging technical problems and provide guidance on performance optimization and scalability considerations.ย
- Design and delivery of technology solutions tailored to regional and country operations to ensure technological support for regional and country-level strategies, including the rapid development and deployment of AI-powered business applications.
Selection Criteria
* Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other related disciplines with 8 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.ย
* Demonstrate deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities.ย
* Substantial expertise in software development, comprehensive proficiency in various programming languages and frameworks, and a demonstrated track record in system design and architectural planning.ย ย ย
* Outstanding communication abilities to mentor team members, articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences of all technical levels, and promote effective cross-team collaboration.ย
* Track record of leading technical teams including software engineers, solution architects, data engineers, and emerging technology specialists.ย
* Strong skills to optimize technical efficiency and eliminate redundancies.ย
* Proficiency in English.ย
