Position: Senior Finance Manager
Senior Finance Manager will be responsible to ensure maintaining the Country Office financial management and accounting system through accurate accounting, timely reporting, reconciliations, and payments as well as budget forecasting, expenditure tracking and financial analysis in accordance with FHI 360 and agreed financial control policies and procedures as well as local statutory and regulatory and fundersโ requirements. S/he will also be responsible ensuring adherence with FHI 360 global and Nepal policy, systems and procedural guidelines as well as local statutory and regulatory, and fundersโ requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee country office financial and accounts management.
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and documentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial data entry into accounting systemsโGlobal Financing and Administration System (GFAS) and tracking tools.
- Ensure maintaining financial records in compliance with FHI 360 policy, and fundersโ and local statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper functioning of GFAS accounting system and coordinate with HQ/APRH for updates.
- Ensure monthly cash flow statements and timely payments/reimbursements for consultants, implementing partners, and vendors.
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to HQ, APRH, and donors.
- Assist in preparing annual workplan and budget as well as budget for new proposals/applications.
- Prepare pipeline/forecasting and track project expenditures against budgets, monitor burn rates, and support management and technical teams on budget realignments.
- Implement internal control systems and monitor financial risk exposure and implement mitigation measures.
- Ensure accuracy of checking accounts, VAT receivable/payable reconciliations, and advance reconciliations.
- Prepare and process monthly payroll and cost allocations.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory deductions, tax filings, and government tax clearance.
- Perform Social Welfare Council (SWC) related functions as required.
- Carry out internal and external audit functions and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Supervise finance team members, ensuring clarity of roles and adherence to deadlines.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, Country Representative, or Project Director.
REQUIREMENTS
- Masterโs degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field with five to seven years of leadership experience in financial management, budgeting, and accounting for complex programs; or a bachelorโs degree with seven to ten years of relevant experience as mentioned.
- Knowledge and experience with finance and grant management system
- Experience with United State Government (USG) and other fundersโ financial management as well as contract and grants management
- Proactive in managing multiple tasks, managing and working in the virtual work environment, and flexible and open to managing time working with different teams in different time zones as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, coordination and collaboration, team building and management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) an advantage.
- Excellent oral and written English and Nepali including documentation skills.
