    Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

    The position of Senior Finance and Administration Assistant is assigned in India Resident Mission (INRM) within the South Asia Department (SARD). You will be based at our India Resident Mission in New Delhi, India.

    You will report to designated International Staff and Officer.

    Your Role

    As a Senior Finance and Administration Assistant, you will support the finance and administration team of INRM in the tasks related to accounting, office administration, coordinating and consolidating analytical, statistical and administrative requirements for INRM's finance and administration group.

    You will:

  • Assist in reviewing the accuracy and propriety of documentation from claims, support in processing accounting transactions, including medical claims and staff benefits, and contributes in carrying out RM's daily banking functions.
Assist in maintaining accurate and timely accounting records of INRM's financial transactions relating to both operational and administrative activities, according to ADB's guidelines and procedures. Assist in the preparation of documents required for liquidation of monthly financial transactions, according to ADB's guidelines and procedures; create e-copies of vouchers, and maintain the hard and e-filing systems on finance matters. Assist in online submission of requests for mission/other travel, and requests for reimbursement of travel Support in managing finance and administration records Assist in the coordination of workshops/seminars, through management of schedules, hotel contracts, events, travel, accommodation, visas, custom clearances of shipments, etc. Assist in preparation of various papers and reports. Support in the yearly verification of INRM's assets, and in reconciling and maintaining inventory records. Assists in the disposal of obsolete assets according to ADB guidelines. Perform other tasks as assigned and reflected in your workplan.

Qualifications

You will need:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce or equivalent academic qualification At least 5 years of relevant professional experience. Experience in international agencies will be preferred. Experience applying organizational guidelines or procedures to support finance and administrative work. Experience preparing reports and communicating in English and the national language to support coordination and documentation. Familiarity with local languages and institutions. Ability to work in a multicultural environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in team-oriented environment. Flexibility/willingness to perform variety of tasks and expand the scope of work and responsibilities as needed. Proficiency in the use of technology packages (common word-processing, spreadsheets and graphics, PowerPoint and web-browsing) and search engines. Additional Information

This opening is a local staff position. It is open only to nationals and residents of India.

This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew for an initial period of three (3 ) years following Section 3.1 (b) of Administrative Order No. 2.01 (\"Recruitment and Appointment'). This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may be renewed for a period of up to three years, or not renewed. There is no limit on the number of renewals. This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
