About the Position
The Networks, Infrastructure and Security Unit is seeking a Senior DevOps Analyst. This role is responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting scalable, secure cloud and hybrid solutions tailored to research projects. The Senior Analyst will bridge the gap between development/research and operations teams by enhancing automation, monitoring, and deployment processes for both on-premises and cloud-based environments. Key responsibilities include evaluating new technologies, promoting serverless frameworks, and assisting with cloud migration. Additionally, it will optimize resource usage to improve performance, reduce costs, and support data management, while facilitating collaboration through seamless access to shared data and resources.
Requirements
This job might be for you if you have the below skills and qualifications:
Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic engineering, or related fields; Specialization, training courses, or certifications in Cloud Computing, Systems Architecture, AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional., AWS Specialtyโs certifications, Azure and Google Cloud Platform certifications; Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in an international organization, research, or academic environment in DevOps, system administration, or cloud operations; Good command of English (oral and written); Comprehensive understanding of multi-tier architectures (web servers, caching, application servers, load balancers, storage solutions); Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases; Proficiency with message queuing systems and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technologies; Familiarity with Content Delivery Networks (CDN) for optimized content distribution; Experience with LAN/WAN networking technologies (route tables, firewalls, NAT, HTTP, DNS, IP, OSI models); Strong understanding of RESTful web services and data formats (XML, JSON); Proficiency in automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef); Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration; Programming and scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell; Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD platforms; Experience managing server infrastructures with tools like VMware or ProxMox; Understanding of the software development lifecycle, from development to deployment; Work experience in information and application security (security mechanisms and tools); Expertise in system performance tuning and managing large-scale distributed systems; Deep knowledge of security concepts (public key encryption, access credentials, certificate-based authentication). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse national and cultural backgrounds; Flexibility and adaptability to thrive under tight deadlines and changing priorities; Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, ensuring efficient task management and issue resolution; Client-focused orientation, demonstrating a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking full ownership of tasks and responsibilities within assigned areas; Willingness to work outside regular business hours when urgent situations arise that require immediate attention; Results-driven with a proactive learning mindset.Benefits
This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position and WorldFish offers a competitive remuneration package including comprehensive benefits (but not limited to) insurance coverage for staff and eligible dependents, employer provident fund contribution, paid leave, and others. The duration of the contract will initially be for a one-year period with possibility for extension, depending on funding and performance.
