Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
The position of Senior Communications Specialist is assigned to the Knowledge Support Division (DCKD) within the Department of Communications and Knowledge Management (DOCK).
The position will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines. The incumbent will report to the Director, DCKD, and will oversee junior team members.
Your Role
As a Senior Communications Specialist, you will provide leadership and editorial oversight for the production of ADB publications. You will work closely with internal clients to guide manuscripts through the publication process and oversee service providers to ensure timely delivery and excellence in design, editing, and production. You will also provide senior-level oversight of the Asian Development Bank's intellectual property rights for its publications, ensuring that all content is protected and aligned with ADB's broader institutional and policy objectives.

- Lead production of ADB publications, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to institutional standards.
Qualifications
You will need:
Master's degree in Publishing, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or relevant development fields or University degree in one of these areas and at least 5 years specialized experience relevant to the position can be considered Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, including international work experience. Experience in writing and editing, in a senior editorial role producing corporate or academic reports; management of editorial and design teams. Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of academic book publishing, as well as the currently emerging trends in marketing and dissemination. Understanding of graphic design, typography, and desktop publishing principles, techniques, and software for digital and print projects; Experience producing print, web, and mobile content using XML workflows; Ability to manage and motivate a team of professionals and to establish and maintain productive working relationships with other ADB departments, authors, colleagues, and vendors. This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may, at the option of ADB, be extended once for up to 2 years, converted to a regular appointment, or ended on its expiration date. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB that: (a) it will require Staff's particular blend of skills and experience in the foreseeable future; and (b) Staff's performance is satisfactory and they are suitable for further employment.
