5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Mission and objectivesWe seek enthusiastic and creative professionals who can share their skills and knowledge towards global mental health awareness, gender equality advocacy and outreach. Whether you are an artist (any field), health professional, educator or suicide awareness advocate, your contributions are crucial to ensuring that our program achieves the target objective of involving Zimbabwe youth, adults and the larger global audience directly in SDG3.4 awareness. For the SDG 5 online campaign, we seek professionals who can share their skills regarding the prevention and reduction of gender-based violence and child exploitation. Due to drastic rates of poverty and food insecurity, there has been increase in both child marriage and domestic violence in 2025. Lastly, we encourage all professionals to apply who are simply looking for a fun, lighthearted assignment for the holidays that also has the added bonus of saving lives.

ContextSustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3) covers good health and well-being goals. This overall purpose is to ensure healthy living for the global population, encourage preventative care and promote well-being at all ages. SDG 3 goals address all major health priorities, including mental, reproductive, maternal and child health; communicable, non-communicable and environmental disease; universal health coverage; and access for all to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and vaccines. Our efforts focus on the reduction of the global suicide rate, elimination of mental health stigmas, and the continuation of the mental health dialogue beyond Mayโ€™s Mental Health Awareness Month. Sustainable Development Goal 5 addresses the need for a world with gender equality by 2030. Economic hardship and negative cultural norms create an environment where women and children are vulnerable targets. Girls in particular are singled out for marriage prior to the age of 18, often to alleviate the familyโ€™s financial inability to provide for them. This assignment will amplify SimukaAfrica.org through our 34Gallery.org Initiative, which features monthly Art Therapy Open Calls in collaboration with other art institutions. The 34 Gallery selects 20 selected artists per month throughout 2025 for virtual exhibition. We seek to prioritize mental health by encouraging creativity among international populations without mental health care access. Selected works will be featured in an online campaign across Simukaโ€™s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube). This assignment will also highlight Simuka Africa Youth Associationโ€™s (SimukaAfrica.org) SDG 5 efforts to provide life skills, vocational training and other educational opportunities for at risk youth and child marriage survivors. Our \"Empower4Her\" Open Calls through our 34 Gallery Initiative will emphasize the presence of international female artists while encouraging self-care and empowerment for the international female populace. Our initiative further seeks to generate positive mental health conversations, expand the online mental health community, and lay the groundwork for sustained gender equality advocacy efforts. This project ultimately seeks to inspire awareness on a global scale.

Task DescriptionThe task involves creating and developing a comprehensive online creative arts campaign that utilizes a variety of artistic mediums to engage and educate the target audience. The campaign goal is to raise awareness of mental health issues by consolidating and generating publicity for artwork from our Open Call participants. Calls to Action will include educating the public on self-care, art therapy, and the benefits of art for child development alongside donation support to expand SimukaAfrica.orgโ€™s reach. Volunteers are also encouraged to submit art of their own based on our Art Therapy Open Call themes. We seek article, graphics, and video content creators. During 2025, we also recognize that being female at this moment in history means existing on the edge of global change. What does it mean to be a girl in an increasingly technological world that simultaneously expands and limits human connection? We seek to provide a mental health art outlet and platform for global females, their struggles and their successes. At the same time, we aim to encourage the support of female artisans and projects to assist with female outreach. Artwork, graphics and video will be shared on SimukaAfrica.orgโ€™s social media platforms. (Twitter-X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Facebook and Youtube). Short videos for the Simuka Africa Youth Association Youtube channel and Instagram Reels will also be created.
