In terms of financing, the ITC relies on two main sources: the regular budget and extrabudgetary contributions. Approximately one-fourth of the total budget comes from the regular budget, while the remainder is provided through extrabudgetary contributions, primarily from government donors. As per ITCโs Resource Mobilization Strategy (RMS), diversifying the donor base and mobilizing resources in-country are key priorities. Within the diversification priority, we place particular emphasis on the private sector, while also engaging with foundations and multilateral partnerships and funds. RMS is coordinated by the external relations and governance unit who equally conduct resource mobilization trainings focusing on specific aspects to support internal capacity building. This proposed training activity aims to provide guidance on in-country resource mobilization and also identifying potential partners, government representatives (national and local), donor missions/embassies, the private sector (national or international) and philanthropic entities (national, regional or international). In-country resource mobilization relies very much upon ITCโs engagement with the UN Resident Coordinator Office and UN Country Teams (UNCT) as this would create opportunities to submit joint proposals to potential funders and position ITC better as a development partner to the host government. This training will therefore also cover financing opportunities that arise from multi-partner-trust funds and UN pooled financing mechanisms.
