Work LocationHome country Expected duration15-8-25 to 15-10-25 Duties and ResponsibilitiesBackground: Resolution A/HRC/RES/55/8 mandates OHCHR to draft a report on \"Infrastructure, including transport and housing.\" The report aims to evaluate current practices, identify gaps, and propose recommendations to enhance the inclusion of persons with disabilities. Objectives: The consultant will conduct research to draft the mandated report, focusing on infrastructure, transport and housing in care and support systems for persons with disabilities. Scope of Work: 1. Stakeholder Analysis and Input Integration: - Analyze contributions from stakeholders. - Incorporate inputs, highlighting good examples and practices. 2. Research on Latest Developments: - Conduct research on advancements in infrastructure, transport and housing. - Focus on their application in care and support systems. 3. Identification of Good Practices: - Identify and document best practices for community inclusion. 4. Formulation of Recommendations: - Develop evidence-based recommendations for States, development actors, and other stakeholders. - Ensure recommendations are practical and actionable. Qualifications/special skillsAdvanced degree in Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Law or other disciplines related to Public Policy, additional experience being accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. At least 5 years of progressive experience working on research, policy analysis on disability and the rights of persons with disabilities is required. Experience on care and support systems is desired. Experience on research on infrastructure, transport and housing for persons with disabilities is desired. LanguagesFluency in English is required.
