Introduction
These Terms of Reference outline the engagement of an Implementing Partner to support UN-Habitat work on urban recovery planning in Ukraine. The activities build upon the results of UN-Habitatโs initial interventions in Kyivska oblast.
Building on the urban planning documents developed by the municipalities during the first phase of the project, the Implementing Partner will collaborate with UN-Habitat to zoom into the issue of public space recovery and development along the sub-regional Blue-Green Network across the municipalities of Borodianka-Makariv-Irpin (Kyivska oblast). The activities will include strategic planning, public space design, public participation, and knowledge production.
The objective of the project is to support Ukraine's ongoing and future urban recovery and reconstruction efforts while fostering community cohesion, health, and well-being for all citizens through inclusive and sustainable public spaces.
Main activities to be carried out during this Assignment
Under the general supervision of UN-Habitat, the selected Implementing Partner will be supporting the development of a blue-green network at the regional level as well as the availability and accessibility of knowledge on public space design, relevant to the Ukrainian context.
The project consists of two components:
Development of a sub-regional Blue-Green Network strategy and Local public space interventions in the Borodianka-Makariv-Irpin corridor Facilitation of expert and community dialogue to support knowledge exchange on public spaces, building on the existing UN-Habitatโs public space publicationOverall timeframe
The work outlined in this RFP is scheduled to commence in July 2025 and be completed within November 2025.
