Terms of Reference1.General Background
To align with PSP Global strategy on Donor Experience & Development, PSP Malaysia is looking for an experienced PSP Associate (Fundraising Comms) to develop strategies on omnichannel donor communication and engagement so as to strengthen donor loyalty; to optimise the opportunities to enhance the life-time value of donors by crafting donor centric content to improve retention rate and appeal for extra donations; building engagement at every stage of the donor journey by providing enriched online and offline communications to maximize donor satisfaction, with increased testing of methods to deliver stories and messages.
Reporting to the PSP Officer, this position designs, implements and develops the omnichannel donor communication and engagement plan of PSP Malaysia, works closely with both Individual Giving and Middle Donor programme teams to maximize life-time value of respective donor segments, and provides overall functional guidance to the donor communication and engagement team to ensure all donor communication programmes are implemented effectively and efficiently and with a donor centric approach. This position is vital to ensuring that donors get good supporter experience that the expected income from our donor base is secured each year.
This position is a UNOPS position with a contract which is renewable each calendar year.
2.Purpose and Scope of Assignment
โข Support the implementation of communications strategies for countries, situations and special projects within the area of responsibility; help identify thematic priorities and target audiences to meet UNHCR's global, regional and country-level communications objectives of leading the narrative, generating empathy and mobilizing action for forcibly displaced and stateless people.
โข Monitor news and popular trends to insert UNHCR's messaging into ongoing conversations; identify key moments for proactive communications.
โข Help forge strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations who can help produce and promote UNHCR content, activities and messaging as well as provide research insights to improve communications; promote the work of engaged businesses and civil society actors.
โข Support the development of news-driven and authoritative content to lead the narrative on forced displacement and show UNHCR's impact (e.g. interviews, press releases, flagship reports, speeches), create emotive storytelling to generate empathy (e.g. stories, multimedia content) and mobilize action by signposting concrete steps people can take to help refugees (e.g. digital diplomacy, action-driven campaigns, fundraising).
โข Help ensure that content created reaches maximum impact by supporting the development of strategies for distribution from the outset, boosting the visibility of out content on relevant UNHCR channels and placing it on external channels.
โข Help monitor the implementation of communications projects and adjust accordingly.
โข May be required to assist in implementation of campaigns, events and other initiatives in support of UNHCR's strategic objectives, including its need for a leading share of voice on refugee and related matters.
โข Support the identification and management of risks and seek to seize opportunities impacting objectives in the area of responsibility. Ensure decision making in risk based in the functional area of work. Raise risks, issues and concerns to a supervisor or to relevant functional colleague(s).
โข Design and review donor communication and engagement innovations in a data-driven approach
โข Collaborate closely with Individual Giving and Middle Donor programmes to track metrics and success criteria, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance;
โข Collaborate closely with Business Intelligence team to build knowledge of various donors' personas for effective communications and offers development opportunities.
โข Conduct donor analytics including behavior reporting and post-activity analytics to enhance existing and develop future communication and engagement programmes.
โข Oversee the execution of omnichannel programmes, including direct mail, email, web, mobile and social media to drive donor engagement, based on insights, market trends and in line with our desired marketing positioning;
โข Liaise, monitor and review outsourced vendor services performance such as direct marketing services, printing services, editorial and translating services etc.;
โข Support UNHCRโs donor care and fundraising events; and
โข Perform other related duties as required.
3. Monitoring and Progress Controls
โข Supervision by PSP Officer
โข KPIs on donor loyalty and engagement rate achieved
โข Data-driven donor communication materials catering for different donor segments are produced and delivered on time
โข New / refined donor journeys with enhanced engagement elements for Individual Giving and Middle Donor programmes are implemented as planned schedule and reports produced to evaluate the results โข Donor impact reports are produced timely to show donors the work progress
โข Weekly work brief report to supervisor
4. Qualifications and Experience
a. Education
โข Completion of secondary education, preferably with a bachelorโs degree, in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Social Science or other related fields.
b. Work Experience
โข Minimum 3 years of professional experience relevant to the function for high school diploma or
2 years of experience with Bachelor or higher in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Social Science or other related fields.
โข At least 3 years of experience providing functional guidance or supervision to communications, donor care or loyalty marketing teams
โข Proven experience in a fundraising, digital marketing or communications environment working on donor/customer care and loyalty programme, gained in Hong Kong market
โข Track record of driving new initiatives that deliver improved donor or customer experience
โข Proven experience in managing donor or customer records within a customer relationship database
โข Proven experience in analysing purchasing/donation behaviour and collecting donor/customer insights through surveys and other means
โข Knowledge of MS office especially MS Word, MS Excel

โข Excellent knowledge of English and Bahasa Malaysia in written, oral, comprehension
