The PfV Assistant (Case Management) is responsible for delivering high-quality protection services by identifying individuals with protection concerns, conducting thorough assessments, and providing tailored case management support to displacement affected population with risk of protection. This role involves adhering to standardized procedures and protocols, ensuring a survivor-centred approach, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to promote safety, dignity, and timely access to essential protection services.

Generic responsibilities
Strong understanding of humanitarian response architecture, with a focus on emergency response and protection Ability to prepare and develop timely status reports as required by management Commitment to confidentiality and proper documentation practices Solid knowledge of human rights and protection principles, particularly concerning vulnerable individuals In-depth understanding of risks, stakeholders, and contextual dynamics affecting the protection of displaced populations in Afghanistan Awareness of gender dynamics and the ability to adapt approaches accordingly Prior experience and familiarity with the southern provinces of Afghanistan Proven experience working with vulnerable adults, demonstrating empathy, discretion, and professionalismSpecific responsibilitiesย
Visit the community on daily basis toย Identifying individuals with protection concerns through proactive outreach and community engagement Support implementation of protection monitoring and protection case management activities. Providing individualized case management services, including planning, implementation, follow-up, and closure, in line with standardized procedures and best practices Ensuring a smooth implementation of protection case management activities such as identification of displacement-affected population with protection concerns, provision of services to clients, and referral process, in line with NRCโs protection pillars.ย Conducting comprehensive assessments to determine the nature and severity of protection risks, affects the lives in communities.ย Working closely with adults at high risk of harm, ensuring their safety, dignity, and access to appropriate protection support Organize regular case conferencing sessions with the Protection Coordinator or Team Leader to review cases and determine appropriate courses of action. Conduct regular field visits alongside the team to provide technical support, guidance, and monitor the quality of case management activities. Coordinate with Information Management staff to ensure accurate and secure maintenance of data records, databases, and protection case trackers. Compile and submit monthly case management reports, highlighting key trends, challenges, and achievements. Assist the Protection Team Leader and Protection Coordinator in designing and delivering training sessions to build staff capacity in effective protection case management Ensure that all data and information pertaining to protection monitoring are handled in strict confidence, and in line with applicable data protection and information sharing protocols. Attending ad-hoc internal meeting or external meeting/training to represent the protection team and present as necessary.ย Make sure distribution of the cash grants are being processed as per beneficiaryโs preference.ย Data management and recording keep maintaining confidentiality. Participate in data collection processes including surveys, assessments, and studies where necessary.ย ย Support in the contextualization and drafting of programmatic documents and analysis. Working with community structures, NRC committees, other NGO committees, and existing community structures, on protection risk reduction plans and protection risk identification through mentorship and core CSP activities Promote good relationship with the site service providersย Any other responsibilities tasked by supervisorCritical interfaces:

At least 1 to 3 yearsโ previous humanitarian experience โโ Particularly in protectionโ with a satisfactory performance in the same or similar functional area. Specialties in cash programming, protection, social cohesion, International Humanitarian Law, negotiations, conflict resolution, and/or mediation preferred.ย At least two years working experience of implementing case management, individualized assistance preferably in a humanitarian context with INGOs and or other international implementing partners. Ability to work with displacement affected population with limited facilities in emergency situations.ย Ability to work under pressure.ย Ability to communicate effectively with a broad audience.ย Working knowledge of the Humanitarian Principles and Protection Principles. Proficient computer skills: especially being able to deal with and enter the data in excel. Excellent interpersonal skills.ย Able to show empathy towards the beneficiaries and have great listening skills. And ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity. Monthly Salary based on NRC Afghanistan Salary Scale. Top up Credit card on monthly basis. NRC will cover staff plus four (4) depended for medical insurance.
