Org. Setting and ReportingThe temporary position is located within the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH). Pursuant to Security Council resolution 2793 (2025), UNSOH has been mandated to provide support; primarily to the Gang Suppression Force (GSF), the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), the Haitian National Police (HNP), and the Haitian Armed Forces in the context of any joint operations with the GSF. Additionally, UNSOH is tasked with delivering technical assistance to the Organization of American States (OAS). The temporary positions are based in Port au Prince and is located in the Property Management Unit. The incumbents will report to the Property Management Officer, FS-6. ResponsibilitiesWithin limits of delegated authority, the Property Management Assistant, GS-5 will be responsible for the following duties: โข Conducts physical inspections and quality control of mission United Nations Property to ensure that all items are accounted for and in serviceable condition. โข Interacts with other property management stakeholders and providers of services, in particular Technical Units, Procurement Section, Joint Logistics Operations Center, and Local Property Survey Boards, as appropriate. โข Prepares and submits R&I reports, discrepancy reports, and disposal reports for the unit chiefโs approval. โข Identifies anomalies and/or discrepancies and the details thereof, or any other reason for rejection and record in Damage Discrepancy Reports (DDR), posted on the system and presented to R&I supervisor and Procurement for immediate action. โข Reviews Goodsโ Receipts reports in Umoja and R&I Reports in in electronic inventory management system. โข Maintains on a daily basis accurate and auditable property records in electronic inventory management system for property control and accountability in conformance with administrative instructions, guidelines, manuals and SOPs. โข Liaise with relevant UNSOH sections to collect and validate supporting documents required by UNGSC for timely remote processing of property management transactions. Assist in the preparation, verification, and consolidation of property management files and supporting documentation for submission to UNGSC, to enable remote processing of related inventory, asset, and disposal transactions. โข Assist stakeholders in application of property management policies and procedures to meet organizational standards and goals set up in the DOS Directives, LD Guidelines and mission's SOPs. โข Produces analytical reports on monthly basis and when requested by supervisor โข Assists in drafting statements of requirements for contracts and services for disposal. โข Assists in monitoring the execution of contracts for the disposal of property and supplies, including all types of waste material. โข Assist Technical Units in preparation of equipment write-offs and processing of write-off cases through relevant property survey boards. โข Assists in carrying out Board of Survey functions as and when required. โข Prepare statistical analysis and trend analysis on United Nations property. โข Performs other duties, as required. EducationHigh School Diploma is required. Job - Specific QualificationTraining in logistics and supply chain management or other relevant field is desirable; Training in inventory and asset management is desirable; Work ExperienceA minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of property management, inventory control, logistics, procurement, or other related fields is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to 3 years for those candidates who possess a first university degree. Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems and/or Systems Applications and Products (SAP) is desirable. Experience in preparing performance reports in supply chain management is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
