ย Context
Under the direct supervision of the IBG Programme Manager and the guidance of the IBG Programme Assistant, the Project Assistant will support the effective implementation of immigration and border governance programmes in Lebanon.ย
The IBG unit implements projects to improve border governance capacities in Lebanon, through infrastructure, equipment, capacity building and policy support to Lebanese authorities. This includes activities related to maritime search and rescue, border security, airport safety and humanitarian border management, among others.ย
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, in particular those related to equipment and infrastructure support to national border management agencies. ย
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions. Includes but not limited to:
- Periodic review of the infrastructure / equipment tasks monitoring sheets to secure live updates and reporting delays in implementation.
- Perform receiving process of goods and services in a timely and efficient mannerย to secure efficient field operations and assist the evaluation of bidders.
- Assist in the review and evaluation of offers/proposals against the specifications/terms of reference/statement of work and in consideration of best quality for deliveries
- Maintain records of all processed transactionsย ensuring an efficient filling system for record of all documents.ย
- Prepare requests of Advance and Settlement Payment submissions. ย ย ย
ย ย ย 4. Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation.ย
ย ย ย 5. Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions.ย
ย ย ย 6. Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
ย ย ย 7. Perform other related duties as assigned
Education- School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.ย Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizationsย
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. Skills
- In-depth knowledge of the broad range of migration-related subject areas dealt with by the Organization.
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.

For this position, fluency in Arabic and English is required (oral and written).
