Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (COM) in Algeria and direct supervision of the IBG Officer; and in collaboration with the other relevant units, the IBG Project Assistant will support the implementation of activities under the COMPASS II Phase Project and will also support other activities part of the IBG Unit.
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.ย
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on Legal Identity, Biometric Registration, Consular support, engagement with Government Authorities and Law Enforcement Authorities.
- Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.ย ย
- Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.ย
- Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation.ย
- Organize meetings, workshops, travel missions and training sessions.ย
- Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned. Education
- Highย school diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.ย ExperienceExperience supporting liaison activities with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.ย
- Prior work supporting border management and legal identity activities is considered an advantage.
Skills
Knowledge of migration related subject areas dealt by the organization.
Basic knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming processes.Languagesย
