ย  Context

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Director of the Coordination Office for the Mediterranean, Chief of Mission in Italy and Malta, and the direct supervision of the Integration Specialist and Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the implementation of project โ€œPASSIM4 โ€“ First Health Assistance for Rescue at Sea Operationsโ€ which will be implemented in Lampedusa and Roccella Jonica.

  1. Provide general linguistic support and interpretation services to PASSIM4 health teams (doctors and nurses) involved in rescue at sea operations on the Italian Coast Guard patrol vessels in Lampedusa and Roccella Jonica;
  2. Support the health teams identifying vulnerable groups among the migrants rescued by the PASSIM 4 interventions;
  3. Remain available to participate in rescue operations at sea on the Italian Coast Guard patrol vessels, as required by the PASSIM 4 team;
  4. Participate in all the training sessions envisaged by the PASSIM 4 project (i.e. health assessment, psychological first aid, gender-based violence, human trafficking, intercultural communication, stress management and burn-out prevention);
  5. Support the PM in reporting on any issue related to migrants rescued to be provided within the PASSIM 4;
  6. Support with any relevant administrative and procurement procedure to be implemented locally in Lampedusa and Roccella Jonica;
  7. Any other related services, as requested. Education ย
