Product Development Lead - Digital Archive (HQA-INTERNATIONAL)

Result of ServiceUnder the overall supervision of the Head of Application Development Section and Lead Architect, the role will be responsible for the overall product technical leadership activities of the Digital Archive System. The product lead will be responsible for the to develop and maintain a comprehensive end-to-end historical archive AI-based solution that semi-automates the reconstruction of refugees’ family trees. The solution incorporate applications components, AI & ML components, cloud infrastructure, data management and integration, AI cognitive services, data tools, and Azure cloud platforms services. The incumbent will coordinate with other DITID units to provide technical solutions and implement the software solutions for high performance, optimized and efficient solutions as required by all business processes and in compliance with the defined standards Work LocationAmman Expected duration12 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesSpecific Outputs/Tasks include but not limited to: • Oversee entire project development lifecyle of the Digital Archive System built in Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure Cognitive services, Document Intelligence, MS SQL & .Net • Guide the project development team to deliver, scale, enhance the product within the given timelines. • Evaluate, train and improve AI results of the product • Ensure product quality, security, performance, and alignment with business goals. • Provide technical direction, review deliverables, and mentor cross‑functional development teams. • Troubleshoot product issues, prioritize backlog items, and drive continuous improvement. • Prepare product documentation, release notes, and stakeholder communications. • Deliver regular progress updates and lead agile ceremonies across teams. Qualifications/special skills• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data science, AI or other related discipline. A relevant first-level university degree in combination with two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. • Minimum 5 years of experience in product leadership, software development, or technical delivery roles. • Proven experience leading teams delivering products built with Power Platform, .Net, MS SQL, Azure services, and RESTful integrations. • Hands-on experience managing, training, finetuning and enhancing AI integration in using the right LLM models • Strong background in defining product roadmaps, prioritizing backlogs, and driving agile delivery across cross‑functional teams. • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor development teams, ensuring alignment with product goals and technical standards. • Experience translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and high‑performing technical solutions. • Solid experience in troubleshooting complex system issues and improving product workflows and operational efficiency. • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. LanguagesEnglish and Arabic are the working languages of UNRWA. For this assignment, fluency in English is required. Knowledge in Arabic is an advantage. Additional InformationCONDITIONS OF SERVICE • The consultancy is based in UNRWA HQA Amman - Jordan. • The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration that is equivalent to P3 Step 1 amounting to $7,924.25 for every fully completed month. • The duration of the Contract is up to 12 months, and the possibility of extension is subject to the availability of funds and continuing need and satisfactory performance. • As part of Digital Impact, Technology and Innovation Department (DITID)and digital workspace the role works under the overall supervision of the Head Software Development and Solutions Architecture Section No FeeTHE UNITED NATIONS DOES NOT CHARGE A FEE AT ANY STAGE OF THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS (APPLICATION, INTERVIEW MEETING, PROCESSING, OR TRAINING).
