If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference for one of the most vulnerable communities in the world, UNRWA would like to hear from you. โ€ข Supervisor: The incumbent of this post reports directly to the Chief Field Education Programme, in the assigned Field and receives technical guidance from Chief TVET and Youth Division at HQA. โ€ข Supervisees: The incumbent of this post directly supervises a number of professional and support staff in the assigned Training Centre.. Responsibilitiesโ€ข Oversees the development and implementation of the Training Centreโ€™s programmes, projects, activities, and daily operations at both administrative and technical levels, especially in relation to the centreโ€™s financial, supply and transport operations, boarding and feeding operations, and maintenance and security of the Training Centreโ€™s premises, furniture, machinery and equipment; assesses and advises on improving UNRWA TVET quality assurance system. โ€ข Manages the development, delivery, and assessment of the training programmes at the Training Centre in accordance with the prescribed curricula/syllabi and timetable; participates in the design and evaluation of programmes and syllabi; advises on programme implementation and development, and recommends new programmes and courses based on established needs. โ€ข Represents the Training Centre in conferences, workshops and related educational activities with Ministries, NGOs and other relevant organizations; maintains strong partnerships with employers and stakeholders in the labor market to boost the visibility and relevance of the training activities in the Training Centre; coordinates with education officials of host countries on matters of mutual interest; submits regular operational reports, as required; receives guests, visitors and facilitates hosted activities at the Training Centre. โ€ข Promotes discipline, well-being, and morale among trainees. Ensures access to health services, recreational programming, and co-curricular activities. Leads the integration of inclusive education and human rights principles across TVET programming and Centre operations. โ€ข Participates in and supervises the preparation of the Biennium Budget of the Training Centre; attends budget review sessions, supervises expenditure and control over budget, and prepares project proposals for securing funds; explores innovative financial and business models tailored to UNRWA TVET needs. โ€ข Oversees trainee nomination and enrollment processes; ensures effective functioning of the Registrarโ€™s office. Manages residential sections and supervises boarding arrangements to maintain safe and supportive living conditions. โ€ข Supervises the relevant project proposals, feasibility studies, tracing studies and market surveys prepared and conducted by the technical staff at the training centre for introducing, developing and updating specializations. โ€ข Participates in the design and modification of training spaces; advises on facility improvements and ensures optimal utilization of resources. Oversees administration of short-term training courses conducted during and beyond regular hours in coordination with technical staff. โ€ข Leads recruitment and performance appraisal of Training Centre staff. Screens applications, compiles candidate shortlists, and serves on selection panels. Ensures professional conduct and staff development. โ€ข Advises on the design and implementation of initiatives and learning programmes for UNRWA TVET greening and digital transformation. โ€ข Guides and oversees the implementation of Occupation Safety and Health (OSH) measures, trainings, and activities led by designated officers and committees. โ€ข Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. Staff must successfully complete UNRWA TVET In-Service Professional Development program within a maximum of three years from the date of appointment to the grade; Failure to meet this condition will result in the termination of the staff member from the Agencyโ€™s service. For well-justified reasons, the grace period may be extended to a maximum of four years, subject to DUO approval Work Experienceโ€ข You are required to have at least seven years of progressively responsible relevant experience including: - Four yearsโ€™ experience in an administrative/supervisory capacity in a TVET institution; and - Three years of progressively responsible relevant professional satisfactory teaching experience โ€ข You are required to have an advanced university degree from an accredited educational institution in educational administration or in one of the subjects taught at the centre. โ€ข A Ph.D. in education or related subject in Jordan is required. For external candidates, proof of completion of a professional development programme equivalent to that is required for this post as outlined in UNRWA TVET In-Service Professional Development Framework is acceptable for recruitment purposes.
