JOB CONTEXT:
Since fighting broke out between the SAF and RSF in April 2023 in Sudan, a significant deterioration of the humanitarian situation has occurred. There are an estimated 24.8 million persons in need of humanitarian assistance, over 11 million persons displaced internally, half the population at Crisis level of hunger, and a collapse of the health system.
Humanity & Inclusion (HI) has initiated its programmatic response to the Sudan crisis in January 2024. Today, HI is directly implementing humanitarian assistance project to respond to the basics needs, and inclusion needs of persons with disabilities and other vulnerable populations in West Darfur.
In addition, HI is joining a Consortium led by PUI to implement a multisectoral project in Al Jazeera State starting in July 2025. Through this project, HI will support two health & Nutrition centers to deliver physical rehabilitation (including Stimulation Therapy) and will continue to foster disability inclusion amongst the humanitarian stakeholders.
Due to access constraints, the Rehabilitation PM position is based in Nairobi, providing remote management and support to HI field team based in Al Jazeera State. Depending on visa approval, the rehabilitation PM will have the possibility to travel to Sudan for field and monitoring visits.
YOUR ROLE:
Reporting to the Country Director, the Rehabilitation Project Manager contributes to the implementation of the mandate and the 10-year strategy of Humanity & Inclusion in the country where s/he is based. S/he is responsible for implementing his/her project. S/he ensures optimal quality and the impact of the project implemented by means of a delegation system with appropriate oversight mechanisms. With all the other HI managers, the project manager shares responsibility for the sound management and effective functioning of the global organization.

Mission 1: Management

Mission 2: Strategy and steering :
Contribute to the development of the programme\u2019s operational strategy
Contribute to programme or country operational strategy (StratOp). Draft new project proposals for the continuity or expansion of the project. Contribute to the drafting of new proposals for new opportunities, if necessaryย
Mission 3: Operational implementation
Responsibility 1: Ensure the implementation of the project, in line with the logical framework and allocated budget

Responsibility 2: Ensure that project implementation complies with the existing frameworks
Ensure the proper implementation and follow-up of institutional policies (specifically PME, PSEAH and Age-Gender- Disability policies) and the other HI internal standards. Ensure compliance with the terms of the project proposal and the rules applied by the project funding body/bodies. Ensure compliance with global technical standards and norms by communicating and by involving the technical specialists and advisors with expertise in the project themes.ย
Responsibility 3: Ensure project monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning
Ensure project monitoring, specifically activity progress indicators and the expected outcomes Develop and implement the project evaluation plan. Ensure that the project is accountable to the local stakeholders. Ensure project learning, taking into account lessons learned from similar previous projects, following the recommendations made throughout the project and capitalising on the acquired knowledge.ย
Responsibility 4: Ensure project data management
Ensure that the appropriate data collection and management tools are in place in line with global standards. Carry out regular checks and makes any necessary corrections to the activity database.ย
Responsibility 5: Coordinate the teams involved in the project
Facilitate coordination meetings between his/her direct team and the support services located in the area Ensure that his/her team and the support teams (shared and technical services, in particular) work well together Facilitate the project steering committee.
Responsibility 6: Contribute to external project communication
Contribute to HI\u2019s external influence by taking part in networks, when required. Communicate about the project to partners, authorities and stakeholders when relevant.ย
Mission 4: Emergency Preparedness and Response
Lead the emergency preparedness actions in his/her department and, in the event of an emergency, reorganize the priorities of his/her team in order to ensure a quick and efficient response by HI.

Educational background and experienceย
Degree in physical rehabilitation Proven experience of at least 4 years in the field of physical rehabilitation 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in remote managementย Proven experience in a paediatric rehabilitation project or a rehabilitation project linked to malnutrition.ย Proven training and local capacity-building experienceSkills required:ย
