Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager, the direct supervision the Project Officer, and with guidance from the Project Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting enhanced visibility of IOM Solomon Islandsโ entire programming portfolio. This encompasses programming related to migration, environment and climate change, disaster risk reduction, protection, and labour mobility and social inclusion. The incumbent is contributing to IOM Solomon Islandโs public outreach and overall visibility with donors, the broader public and government partners. IOM will maintain ownership over all products developed by the incumbent.
As requested by IOM staff, document the implementation of activities through photography and videography, including during community visits, government meetings and focus group discussions.ย
Edit, format and archive photos and videos, and file in relevant online folders.
Support with editing and creating short video documentaries and stories, in coordination with IOM staff.
Support the development of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) material as necessary.
Record (audio and visual), edit and document interviews, providing translation as necessary.ย
Record and develop footage utilizing drones.
Develop content for social media, such as Facebook and X (Twitter) for the Mission.
Ensure audiovisual consent forms are consistently used and are correctly filed. Education
High school diploma with seven years of relevant experience; or,
Bachelorโs degree in Development, Communications, Jounralism, International Relations, Economics, or a related field from an accredited academic institutionย with five years of relevant professional experience.Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.ย Experience
- At least two years of experience in photography and videography is an advantage.
Experience with an international or intergovernmental organization working on development of communication materials in Solomon Islands is an advantage;
Experience in working effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from various cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels.Skills
