Lead with Purpose. Power the People Experience.
Be the Engine Behind the Mission
At Save the Children Australia, we believe that behind every bold mission is a brilliant team—and behind every brilliant team is a seamless, empowering people experience. As our full-time, permanent* People Operations Manager, you’ll be the architect of that experience. You’ll lead the systems, processes, and insights that help our people thrive—so they can help children thrive.
Your Opportunity to Make a Difference
This is not your average operations role. You’ll be at the heart of a purpose-driven organisation, leading a passionate team to deliver people services that are human-centred, data-informed, and future-ready. From optimising HR systems to driving workforce insights, you’ll ensure our people practices are as impactful as our programs.
What you’ll lead and love:
· Operational Excellence
o Simplify, streamline, and elevate the employee experience across the full lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding and everything in between.
· People Insights & Analytics
o Turn data into decisions. Lead the development of dashboards and reports that empower leaders and shape strategy.
· Tech & Transformation
o Be the product owner of our HR tech landscape. Drive innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.
· Policy & Compliance
o Keep us sharp, safe, and compliant. Lead policy development, monitor legislation, and ensure we’re always ahead of the curve.
· Remuneration & Benefits
o Lead our annual remuneration review and help shape a compelling, equitable rewards strategy.
· Leadership & Culture
o Inspire a high-performing team culture rooted in inclusion, agility, and service. Be a champion of collaboration across People & Culture, Finance, Tech, and beyond.
What You’ll Bring
Your deep expertise in leading people operations in a complex, values-driven environment is invaluable.
This role requires:
· Strong knowledge of HR systems, data governance, and compliance
· A passion for simplifying processes and improving employee experience
· Experience managing remuneration cycles and industrial relations frameworks
· A collaborative spirit and a commitment to continuous improvement
· A deep belief in the power of people to drive change
Why Join Us?
Because here, your work matters. You’ll be part of a global movement, surrounded by people who care deeply and act boldly. You’ll have the freedom to innovate, the support to grow, and the opportunity to leave a lasting impact—not just on an organisation, but on the lives of children everywhere.
In addition, we also offer:
· Opportunity to work on additional projects to enable you to stretch and feel connected to programs in a different way
· Individual learning plans to help map and deliver on your career development.
· Support for workplace wellness, including access to our free, confidential Employee Wellbeing Program
· Celebrate and feel supported in your diversity. We’ve established internal networks to support our diverse workforce, foster inclusion and allow you to bring your whole self to work (if that’s what you want!) (Pride@Save, Parents and Carers@Save, Mental Wellness Alliance, Disability@Save, First Nations Advisory Committee).
· Full salary packaging benefits (please use this link to see how much this benefit could mean to you!)
