 Location: Jerusalem / AmmanSOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, the SI teams โ 3200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers - intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms. About the missionSI operates across the Gaza Strip and intend to develop operations in the West Bank, with a field base in Deir El Balah. The organization works to improve access to safe drinking water by rehabilitating or installing reverse osmosis units, distributing water via tankers and water points, and deploying mobile systems to pump water from existing wells. It also monitors water quality, provides hygiene kits to the most vulnerable households, promotes good hygiene and water management practices, and implements pilot activities in home gardening. 
 At the end of 2024, SOLIDARITรS INTERNATIONAL strengthened its rapid response capacity by creating a specialized Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) team, which has already been deployed during new crises and will be extended to the West Bank.
 The organizationโs work relies on strong partnerships with local Palestinian organizations such as UFA and MAโAN. Its institutional and financial partners include CDCS, Choose Love, ECHO, Althรฉmis, and OCHAAbout the jobGENERAL OBJECTIVES : The Country Director is Solidaritรฉs Internationalโs official representative of the organization in a country. S/He is in charge of the smooth running of the mission. S/He proposes mission strategy, according to the geopolitical and humanitarian context, and ensures its implementation once it has been validated. S/He monitors projects, ensuring that they are progressing in accordance with the Solidaritรฉs International charter and complying with internal and contractual procedures. S/He mobilizes the material and financial resources necessary for the programs to run effectively and supervises the administration of these resources. S/He coordinates the teams in place and ensures the security of the personnel an operation of the organization in the mission. S/He is the direct liaison for Solidaritรฉs Internationalโs HQ. ISSUES AND SPECIFIC CHALLENGES : The mission operates in a complex and fast-evolving environment, with significant Security and access constraints, which required a strong involvement of the CD and a close follow up of the situation, as well as a constant communication with the field bases. The mission is still in a development phase, even though the base in Gaza is well organized the coordination office remained to be structured, and operations in the West Bank developed. PRIORITIES ON THE 2-3 FIRST MONTHS : Setting up / Structuration of the coordination team. Development of communication channels with Partners, others NGOs, Donors and authorities at Jerusalem level. Supporting the ongoing Scaling up of operations in Gaza, and develop operation in other areas SECURITY CONSTRAINTS: There are major security and access challenges in Gaza, and a complex situation in Jerusalem and West Bank. However, the security situation in Jerusalem where the coordination office will be set up is quiet, but the situation could evolve depending of the overall Middle-East context, and further armed confrontation with neighboring countries canโt be ruled out. Your profileDIPLOMAS : Bachelorโs degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Organization Development, or related HR discipline. Bachelorโs in Financial Management. EXPERIMENT IN THE HUMANITARIAN SECTOR : 5 years and more EXPERIMENT ON SIMILAR POSITIONS : 3- 4 years TECHNICAL SKILLS : 1.Mastering of project cycle management 2.Negotiation and diplomatic skills 3.Training and capacity building skills TRANSVERSAL SKILLS : 1.Experience on security management in complex environment 2.Experience in humanitarian / context analysis 3.Proven experience in external representation in sensitive environment 4.Proven experience in external representation in sensitive environment LANGUAGES : English and Arabic SI will offer youA salaried position: According to experience, starting from EUR 3740 gross per month (3400 EUR base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 750. SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD 850 break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one (1) additional rest day per month worked. Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded LIVING CONDITIONS : To date, SI has an Office in Cheik Jarrah shared with another NGO. The office is equipped will all the necessary furniture. 
 SI has guest house in Shuafat. The GH is fully equipped (Internet, kitchen / laundry / living room / etc.).
 Jerusalem is generally very safe, and staff can move freely throughout most areas of East and West Jerusalem. Walking in the city is permitted, though staff should avoid being alone at night and refrain from visiting outskirts, settlements, or refugee camps .
