5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Mission and objectivesUN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace, and security.

ContextFrom 25 November to 10 December 2025, mark the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-based Violence under the theme: โ€œUNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girlsโ€. Violence against women and girls affects one in three women. It is a global human rights emergency that must stop. As the world marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action โ€“ one of the most progressive international agreements on womenโ€™s rights to date โ€“ the UN Secretary-Generalโ€™s UNiTE 2025 campaign focuses on one of the fastest-growing forms of abuse: digital violence against women and girls. This yearโ€™s campaign is also a reminder that digital safety is central to gender equality. Volunteer Benefits Volunteers will receive an official UNV certificate of appreciation recognizing your contribution to the global 16 Days of Activism campaign and gain real experience in digital advocacy for womenโ€™s rights.
