About this position

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) seeks a skilled Operations, Project Management and Technology Officer Associate to join the Event Production Management (EPM) department within the Office of the Secretary (SEC). This department oversees the planning, execution, and implementation of IDB's Annual Meetings and manages daily audiovisual operations in boardrooms and main conference rooms.

This role is critical in ensuring the seamless management and operational effectiveness of AV services, providing technical oversight and on-site support for high-profile events and the daily operations of outsourced AV services. The position will play a vital role in driving the adoption of modern AV technologies and ensuring compliance with organizational standards and best practices. The Operations, Project Management and Technology Officer Associate will report to the Systems Specialist, who reports directly to the Chief of EPM.

What you’ll do

Operational Management and Oversight:
⦁ Oversee daily AV operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery in alignment with ITIL best practices.
⦁ Oversee the performance of the outsourced AV services provider, ensuring all tasks, including operational support, maintenance, and incident resolution, are executed to organizational standards.
⦁ Track performance metrics, such as uptime, incident resolution times, and client satisfaction, and report them to management.
Technical Expertise and Systems Management:
⦁ Serve as the in-house technical expert on AV technologies, including AV-over-IP, digital audio, and video transmission systems.
⦁ Ensure all AV equipment is operational, properly maintained, and aligned with organizational needs.
⦁ Collaborate with the AV Services Strategy Manager and external vendors to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new AV technologies.
⦁ Demonstrate strong knowledge in networking protocols and systems to ensure interoperability and reliability of AV services.
Event Support:
⦁ Oversee the setup, configuration, and testing of AV equipment for IDB’s Annual Meetings and other high-profile events.
⦁ Provide on-site support during events, including real-time monitoring and troubleshooting of equipment and systems.
⦁ Develop and implement proactive incident escalation and problem management protocols.
Collaboration and Leadership:
⦁ Act as a liaison between the organization and the outsourced AV team to align goals and priorities.
⦁ Provide guidance on integrating AV services with IT infrastructure, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and interoperability requirements.
⦁ Mentor and train internal stakeholders on AV equipment usage and troubleshooting.
Technology Advancement:
⦁ Monitor industry trends, including advancements in AV-over-IP, APIs, and cloud-based collaboration tools, to recommend improvements.
⦁ Develop strategies for automating and optimizing AV systems through APIs and advanced networking protocols.
Continuity and Backup:
⦁ Assume the responsibilities of the Systems Specialist during their absence to ensure seamless continuity of operations.
Project Management Support:
⦁ Provide direct project management assistance to the Chief of EPM in the planning, preparation, and implementation of the IDB Annual Meetings.
⦁ Support the Systems Specialist in overseeing all capital projects managed by the team.
⦁ Monitor project development, track tasks, gather and produce documentation, and help prepare status reports as needed.

What you'll need

Education: Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.

Experience: At least 3 years of progressive experience in audiovisual operations, systems management, or a related technical field.

Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

Demonstrated expertise in overseeing outsourced service providers.

Requirements

Type of contract and duration

Staff: International: International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
