    Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

    The position of Operations Assistant is assigned to the Office of the Chief Economist and Director General (EROD) within the Economic Research and Development Impact Department (ERDI). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

    You will report to the designated International Staff and Officer (as applicable).

    Your Role

    As Operations Assistant, you will provide technical, operational, and analytical support to EROD; collect and consolidate information for analytical purposes; support in the processing and implementation of technical assistance, and coordinate matters relating to knowledge events and outputs.

    You will:

  • Coordinate and monitor activities for the division's knowledge events and other related meetings.
Collect, and compile relevant information and data related to the division's research outputs and knowledge products to produce routine and/or ad hoc reports/summaries as instructed. Provide support in TA administration including regular monitoring of TA budgets and contracts; process TA study outputs for publication; and prepare draft TA completion reports as may be assigned. Provide support in event organization, e.g. through coordination of invitation and logistic support, preparing correspondences, and monitoring all relevant schedules. Provide logistical support to the organization of knowledge events including budget preparation, logistical arrangement, engagement of resource persons, dissemination activities, drafting of briefing notes; and fulfilling communications-related requirements. Assist the supervisors on business travel arrangements their participation in various meetings, knowledge events, policy forums by coordinating the meeting schedules/appointments, preparing the summaries and review of the meetings, and providing timely reminders. Perform other duties as may be assigned and reflected in your workplan.

Qualifications

You will need:

Bachelor's degree. At least 5 years of relevant professional experience Advanced computer skills with sound knowledge of common word-processing, spreadsheets and graphics software used in multilateral organizations Able to work with individuals from different cultural/national backgrounds Thorough understanding of the role and function of the division/office/department and a good general understanding of the organization's purpose Good working knowledge of procedures, formats and standards relevant in the performance of work. Additional Information

This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.

This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may, at the option of ADB, be extended once for up to 2 years, converted to a regular appointment, or ended on its expiration date. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB that: (a) it will require Staff's particular blend of skills and experience in the foreseeable future; and (b) Staff's performance is satisfactory and they are suitable for further employment.
