The Internal Audit Service (IAS) of the Independent Evaluation, Audit, and Investigations Services (IEAIS) is responsible for the internal audit function to UN Women. IAS provides independent, objective assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance arrangements, risk management and controls. It manages the internal audit function for UN Women covering its Headquarters and offices away from headquarters.
Purpose of the Roster:ย
The Consultant Roster is a deployment mechanism maintaining pre-vetted experts within an area of Specialization. The roster is established to meet the organization's growing need for access to expertise and to accelerate delivery.
The Audit Support Consultant Roster provides IAS with access to a large pool of pre-vetted candidates to be able to kickstart new assignments, accelerate delivery of existing assignments and/or respond to emergency situations/urgent assignments requiring rapid deployments of qualified expertise.
The Audit Support Consultant will support specific internal audit assignments and projects on an as needed basis.
Description of Responsibilities /Scope of Work
Reporting to Chief, IAS, the Audit Support Consultant will:
Complete assigned audits and advisory reviews under the Risk-Based Audit Plan. Conduct audit assignments in accordance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the UN Women Charter of the Independent Evaluation and Audit Services as well as the IEAS audit guidelines. Lead risk-based end-to-end audits cycle for performance/value for money engagements, maturity and risk assessments, governance, compliance, and project management audits. Undertake audit missions to UN Women offices in Headquarters, and away from Headquarters, at the regional, sub-regional and country level, including to areas with hazardous working conditions. As requested, perform reviews and updates to the audit programme and methodology tool and provide preparation of training activities.As a lead auditor,ย the Audit Support Consultant will:
Monitor the assignmentโs progress vs. plan to manage potential or actual deviations and ensure objectives are met; Plan, manage and oversee the work of team members related to the specific assignment; Ensure Gender Mainstreaming aspects are considered as part of the engagement planning risk assessment; Remain alert to any indicators of potential misconduct and promptly report them to Chief, IAS. Lead consultative debriefing and validation meetings with stakeholders on risks identified, root causes, and potential corrective actions. Prepare and present clear and concise audit reports detailing findings, root causes and potential consequences, recommendations, and corrective actions.As an active IAS team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support are rendered to UN Women in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including:

Education and Certification:
Advanced university degree (Masterโs degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Auditing or related field is required. A first level degree with Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor designation and additional 2 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation desirable. Additional professional certifications (CISA, CFE) are an advantage.Experience:
At least seven years of professional experience in audit, investigations, risk management or another directly relevant area; of which , at least five years working experience in an International Organization or similar organizational setting.Languages:
Fluency in English is required. Working level knowledge of French, Spanish, Russian or Arabic languages is an asset.Statements :
