Organizational Context
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the worldโs largest humanitarian organization, with a network of 191-member National Societies. The overall aim of the IFRC is โto inspire, encourage, facilitate, and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.โ The IFRC works to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people before, during and after disasters, health emergencies and other crises.
The IFRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (Movement), together with its member National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The work of the IFRC is guided by the following fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.
The Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) has been working in Ukraine since April 2022 following the escalation in conflict and established a country office in Lviv in May 2023 and shifted its base to Kyiv in May 2024 with two Delegates to support the Ukrainian Red Cross Society in close cooperation with the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement partners including the IFRC and ICRC, and other partner National Societies. The JRCS is integrated in the Delegation of the IFRC in Ukraine.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
โข Program management support (60%)
This can include (but is not limited to)
o Support successful implementation of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS)โ project(s) that the JRCS financially and technically supports through management and monitoring at all stages of the project cycle, ensuring overall quality by close collaboration with the URCS stakeholders. (ex. Checking the narrative and financial report and asking for necessary revision to the URCS before officially submitting them to the JRCS HQs.)
o Contact with stakeholders by phone, email and instant messaging, as needed.
o Accompany the JRCS delegates in their trips to the field.
o Participate in the relevant meeting.
o Gather necessary information and communication materials under close coordination with URCSโs respective department to ensure accountability to the donors in Japan.
โข Translation/Interpretation (20%)
o Support the JRCS delegates in communication with program stakeholders acting as a liaison.
o Translation of documents (mainly physical rehabilitation related but not only) from English to Ukrainian and vice versa as needed.
โข Administrative support (5%)
o Support in organising meetings and other events or administrative tasks as needed.
o Coordinate accommodation and travel for field visits.
o Coordination with IFRC translator in case their support is needed.
o Support to send documents to Japan
โข Information management support (10%)
o Support in information and data collection (related to the project, security, and any relevant information) for reporting, coordination purposed as required.
o Support in data management including the communication materials
o Support in all other relevant tasks as required
โข Logistical support (5%)
o Support in stock management of emergency food/water
o Support in procurement of goods when requested
o (Only in case of emergency and relocation from Kyiv)
Transportation of the staff on the territory of Ukraine in a safe and courteous manner, and according to IFRC vehicle policy, operating procedures, driver rules and regulations.
- Ensure vehicle security and safety when parking.
- Visually inspects and mutually tests the vehicle prior to departure.
- Obey all traffic rules and regulations in the Country
- Maintains vehicle logbook up to date and with all required information.
โข Others
o Maintain high level of confidentiality at all levels of work.
o Any other reasonable tasks requested by the JRCS C/O and within the capacities and scope of the work.

Experience
