How can you make a difference?ย Purpose of the Consultancy: The personal assistant will work closely with, and directly under the supervision of the disability inclusion consultant for the delivery of outputs of the work plan of the disability inclusion in Libya Country Office. In particular, the consultant will support the disability inclusion consultant with addressing accessibility barriers related to information processing, administrative tasks, navigation of systems that are not fully accessible, and orientation in environments whenever needed. UNICEFโs internal guidance explicitly lists personal attendants as part of reasonable accommodation, and provides detailed examples tailored for staff who are with visual disabilitiy: The UNICEF Guide (2025) lists PA duties such as: โข ย Mobility/orientation support during missions and field visits. โข ย Note-taking support. โข ย Formatting documents, inserting comments, handling graphics. โข ย Reading inaccessible documents and describing visual content. โข ย Setting up accessible work environment.
Scope of Work/Key Tasks: โข ย Support the mobility/orientation of the person during external visits and field visits (including setting up an enabling environment for the UNICEF personnel they are supporting). โข ย Support with notetaking during meetings, workshops, and field visits as instructed by UNICEF personnel. โข ย Support with formatting documents and inserting graphics and pictures. โข ย Support with reading documents and describing graphics and illustrations which are not accessible to screen reader software and converting content into accessible formats. โข ย Support with administrative tasks that present accessibility barriers. โข ย Support with searching for information and documents on online platforms.
Deliverables (Monthly for 10 months (until the end 30th of December, 2026) Provide verbal guidance and environmental orientation to visually impaired staff during external meetings, field visits, and other work-related activities โข ย Support correspondence, reading, and writing tasks, including reading printed materials, wall-posted information, signage, and other inaccessible content. โข ย Convert documents from inaccessible formats into accessible formats to ensure inclusive information access. โข ย Assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations, including drafting, editing, formatting, and finalizing slides. โข ย Provide logistical and administrative support in the preparation and delivery of activities (e.g., photocopying and distributing materials, writing on flipcharts, taking photos). โข ย Digitize content from flipcharts and workshop materials, ensuring accurate transfer into electronic files. โข ย Assist the employee in addressing technology-related barriers to enable full and effective workplace inclusion. โข ย Edit, proofread, and finalize documents to ensure quality and accuracy. โข ย Support planning and coordination of workshops and meetings held in external venues. โข ย Conduct online searches and retrieve relevant information, documents, and resources from digital platforms.
