Under the direct supervision of WB Programme Manager (Mobility Pathways and Returns) in the Country Office with Coordination Function (COCF) in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina ย and under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission for IOM Serbia, and in close coordination with Sub-Regional Project Coordinator COCF in Sarajevo, the incumbent will support the implementation of IT-related activities at the regional level under the programme โEU Support to Strengthen Return Management Systems in the Western Balkansโ, funded by theย European Commission, as well as other relevant regional projects and/or programmes, in line with IOM policies and procedures and donor requirements
- Support knowledge management and coordination of IT-related activities under EU-funded, Danish-funded, and other relevant regional projects in the Western Balkans.
- Support the promotion of the route-based approach by assisting project teams in contributing to the identification and development of synergies in digitalization initiatives across Western Balkans countries, Tรผrkiye and European Union.ย
- Contribute to the development, maintenance and updating of a repository of digital tools, documentation, best practices, and lessons learned, taking into the consideration the route-based approach.ย
- Collect and summarize information on government strategies related to digitalization and IT systems in the Western Balkans to help ensure that project interventions are consistent and complementary.
- Support the use of emerging technologies and IOM digital tools to improve service delivery and data use for migration processes in Western Balkans.
- Participate in technical-level coordination meetings with stakeholders and take notes, provide inputs, and follow up on relevant actions.
- Work collaboratively with project team members by providing inputs and support for IT-related activities across different projects in the Western Balkans.
- Assist in drafting technical documentation related to the procurement, development and implementation of IT solutions, under regional projects.
- Support project teams in the implementation of IT-related activities, tools and interventions across the different projects, including needs assessments, roll-out, deployment, onboarding, product training and maintenance, ensuring consistency and interoperability wherever possible.ย
- Support national and international experts in conducting analyses and facilitating assessments of the IT networks and systems of beneficiaries.
- Conduct smaller-scale assessments of beneficiary IT systems as needed, to inform project activities.
- Monitor key result indicators and user satisfaction of IT-related activities and interventions and provide inputs to support improvements.
- Gather and analyse information about IT project-related activities and contribute to periodical reports.
- Contribute to preparing and presenting technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate IT product functionalities and project progress to internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with Western Balkan authorities and project teams, to support the assessment of needs, compatibility, and feasibility of IT technical solutions and interventions.
- Under the guidance of WB Programme Manager, assist in identifying potential implementation challenges and contribute inputs to mitigation measures.
- Provide technical support to project teams, including assistance with programming, documentation and maintenance of IT tools and systems where relevant.

Education
- Bachelorโs degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Development, or a related field from an accredited academic institution withย two years of relevant professional experience; or,
- Masterโs degree in above-mentioned fields.
- Additional IT-related training, professional courses, or certifications are an advantage.
Experience
- Experience assisting in software implementation projects or similar activities.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement processes within a software product's lifecycle.
- Experience assisting with implementation and administration of information systems and networks.
- Hands-on experience in supporting technical assessments and analysis, and in drafting technical requirements and reports.
- Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience delivering training sessions to software end-users.
- Experience assisting in procurements of IT equipment, software and specialized equipment for beneficiaries working in migration management.
- Familiar with the route-based approach in migration management.
- Knowledge and experience in digitalization of the migration and return management processes.
- Experienced supporting stakeholder engagement, training of stakeholders and organization of events.
- Good technical background with understanding or hands-on experience in software and web technologies
