Result of ServiceUnder the supervision of the Rehabilitation Project Coordinator (Head of Office (a.i.) UNODC Tunisia), and the technical guidance of the Project Technical Committee, the national expert will: 1. Develop an inception note demonstrating the understanding of the mission and detailing the implementation timeline over the four-month period. 2. Prepare a CBT training programme tailored to frontline staff and educators in juvenile rehabilitation centres. 3. Deliver seven (7) CBT training sessions of two days each, targeting psychologists and medical staff, of selected centers. 4. Conduct four (4) supervision workshops for therapists implementing CBT and group sessions with juveniles presenting mental health challenges. 5. Participate in UNODC technical meetings, workshops, and coordination sessions with implementing partners. Work LocationTunis Expected duration40 days between 23 February and 23 May 2026 Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe project โ€œPromoting mental health and supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of juveniles in detention, including those associated with violent crimesโ€ aims to strengthen the capacity of the Tunisian prison administration to provide quality mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services, while reinforcing rehabilitation and reintegration programmes for juveniles in conflict with the law. The intervention focuses on: โ€ข Enhancing access to adequate MHPSS services for children and youth in detention. โ€ข Supporting trauma-affected juveniles, including those exposed to violence, violent extremism, or drug-related disorders; โ€ข Building the capacity of the Comitรฉ Gรฉnรฉral des Prisons et de la Rรฉรฉducation (CGPR) to implement evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) programmes in juvenile rehabilitation centers. UNODC implements the project with financial support from the U.S. Department of Stateโ€™s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). Qualifications/special skillsAn advanced university degree (Masterโ€™s degree or equivalent) in child and adolescent psychiatry or clinical Psychology and child/adolescent Psychopathology, or a related field is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. โ€ข A minimum of 07 years of relevant clinical experience with child and adolescent psychopathology is required. โ€ข at least 02 years of practical experience in delivering CBT for children and adolescents is required. โ€ข At least 02 years of Medical specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry experience in developing pedagogical/training programmes are desirable โ€ข Field experience in mental health with vulnerable juveniles in conflict with the law is desirable โ€ข Prior experience with the UN system or international organizations is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position fluency in French, i.e. oral and written proficiency, is required. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
