Qualifications

1.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Purpose of consultancy

The purpose of this consultancy is to support capacity building activities surrounding the introduction of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) and activation of sentinel surveillance for invasive bacterial diseases in Jordan. The capacity building activities will include training of trainers for selected experts at the national and first administrative level followed by cascade training to immunization workforce at district and health facility level along with engagements with the private sector.

2.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Background

As part of activities leading to the introduction of PCV, WHO is supporting a series of capacity building activities surrounding PCV. This includes capacity building activities for vaccinators and immunization workforce at all levels and engagements with the private sector surrounding routine vaccination including PCV. The efforts will also aim to strengthen the immunization system through supporting the activation of sentinel surveillance for invasive bacterial diseases.

Overall project objective:ย 

Support capacity building of staff involved in the introduction, routine administration of PCV and bacterial meningitis surveillance.

Output 1: Enhance private - public partnership, professional groups and civil society organizations (CSO) and population awareness towards PCV introduction and routine immunization delivery

Deliverable 1.1:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support the development of immunization and vaccine preventable diseases surveillance and reporting standard operating procedures for the private sector including reporting methods

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support the delivery of sessions targeting the private sector on the develop standard operating procedures

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support the development of core training material and information, education and communication material surrounding pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) to target private sector.

4.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Qualifications, experience, skills and languages

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelorโ€™s degree in health field, public health or any relevant area.

Experience:

Essential: At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the area of communicable diseases, immunization or other relevant areas.

Desirable: Experience working in the UN or other international development organization.

Skills/Technical skills and knowledge:
