About IRRI The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers; and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations. Working with in-country partners, IRRI develops advanced rice varieties that yield more grain and better withstand pests and disease as well as flooding, drought, and other harmful effects of climate change.
Job Purpose

The National Consultant will assist and support the development and implementation of the Thai Rice GCF match-making app and AllRice Thailandโ€™s AI chatbot. This includes providing relevant data, technical expertise, system integration, and facilitating knowledge transfer, as well as sharing lessons learned and best practices from e-Extension initiatives in Vietnam and Laos. The consultant will also ensure the smooth deployment, maintenance, and operation of the applications through both on-site and remote support, while contributing to stakeholder capacity building and promoting sustainable knowledge transfer to local teams. In addition, the National Consultant will provide technical and strategic support to the Rice Department in developing and implementing digital agricultural solutions, including the AllRice application, the AI-powered chatbot for the Rice Knowledge Bank, and an agricultural inputs marketplace. The consultant will contribute to system design, knowledge transfer, troubleshooting, and capacity building through both on-site and remote collaboration.

This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baรฑos, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines.
