Description of the Assignment:

With guidance from the Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and UNDP, the consultant is expected to deliver the following:

I. Capacity Needs Assessment

Conduct an assessment of training needs among targeted stakeholders

Identify key knowledge gaps in agrochemical risk management and available sustainable alternatives.

Develop a detailed plan for capacity-building interventions to target stakeholders.

II. Training Development

Design an organized training curriculum addressing agrochemical use risks, create awareness alternative practices, good agricultural practices certification processes and financing options.

Develop a monitoring and evaluation system to measure the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices, including Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Organic Agriculture (OA)鈥tc.

Develop training manuals, visual aids, and learning tools.

Customize materials for different stakeholder groups.

III. Training Delivery and Facilitation

Conduct training workshops for extension agents, target farmers, and financial institutions.

Organize field demonstrations and interactive learning sessions customized to the specific needs of stakeholders, covering Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), sustainable agricultural practices, and responsible pesticide use and disposal.

Integrate gender-sensitive and inclusive approaches into training.

IV. Dissemination and Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with Department of Agriculture Extension and Cooperative (DAEC), sub national extension units (PAFO, DAFO) and other key actors for knowledge sharing.

Organize stakeholder meetings and feedback sessions.

Support the development of a sustainable knowledge-sharing platform.

V. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

Develop indicators to measure training effectiveness.

Conduct pre and post-training assessments.

Prepare progress reports and recommendations for scaling up capacity-building efforts.

All outputs and documents where applicable to be submitted in electronic form (soft copy) with approved formats compatible with Microsoft Office and Adobe Image and other files in approved formats.

Period of assignment/services: 42 working days.

Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline.
