Job Overview: The My New School (MNS) Coordinator coordinates educational and enrichment programming, implementation, and reporting for the IRCโ€™s My New School After School and Summer Camp Programs. The MNS Coordinator works with the MNS team, two Student Support Specialists, and potential interns, and volunteers. The Coordinator works with the team to ensure the program integrates best practices for teaching and tutoring students at Freedom Middle School, as well as social-emotional learning principles, and to ensure that youth education goals and objectives are accomplished using a holistic, collaborative approach, in partnership with school staff, caregivers, and youth themselves. The Coordinator manages and tracks grant goals and outcomes for multiple grants. This is a part-time opportunity, hours from 12PM to 5PM, at least 5 days/week, Monday-Friday.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manage implementation and program delivery for the IRC After School Program and Summer Camp at Freedom Middle School and potential school sites Manage participant recruitment, retention, attendance, and family engagement Manage program files and databases (enrollment, attendance, outcomes monitoring); maintain accurate and complete records Collaborate with Afterschool Program Supervisor to implement M&E tools and ensure program monitoring & evaluation activities are carried out, report on program progress and achievements Supervise volunteers and interns to support program administration and implementation for After school and Summer Camp programs. Plan and coordinate caregiver and teacher conferences Conduct teacher observations and coaching using the IRC Framework for Effective Teaching Co-lead and plan weekly workshops and lessons Prepare internal and external reports for programs supervised Collaborate with external partners, serving as a liaison between organizations Ensure program data is consistently collected and entered in relevant databases Lead recruitment and supervision of program volunteers and interns Attend Youth Education Team meetings and complete administrative duties, including but not limited to reporting, timesheets, and expense reports Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education:

Masterโ€™s degree preferred in education, social work, counseling or the equivalent or more than 5 years relevant work experience

A minimum of 3-5 years teaching English Language Learners, required. Teaching certification and experience in the public school system desirable Responsive classrooms and/or restorative justice trained, highly desirable Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations, highly desirable

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

Proven success planning and delivering creative and engaging curricula for beginner to intermediate ELLs Cultural competency training experience, desirable A belief in the ability of all youth to reach their education, career, and personal goals Demonstrated competency in program planning and implementation skills, including the ability to manage large groups of students and the ability to think creatively and strategically Initiative, creativity, and ability to complete projects independently Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes. Organized, responsible, and flexible: able to maintain responsibility for multiple tasks in the context of a diverse, fast-paced work environment and maintain composure under pressure Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in language(s) spoken by client group is desired (such as: Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Arabic, French, Haitian-Creole).

Working Environment***:***

A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and โ€˜fieldโ€™ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities. Occasional domestic (non-local) travel required; up to 10%. May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Compensation: (Pay Range: $26.20-$28.00**)**Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
