Context
The Department of Media and Communications (MCD) is comprised of experienced communications professionals based in IOMโs Headquarters in Geneva and the Administrative Centre in Manila.ย
The Team provides advice and support on media and public information issues to the Executive Office, Offices, Departments and Divisions at Headquarters, Regional Offices, and Country Offices worldwide.ย
It is responsible for global media relations, crisis management and advocacy, and produces a variety of on- and off-line content to enhance awareness of IOM, its operations, policies and data among diverse audiences.ย
MCD manages IOMโs Global website and social media accounts, its institutional branding, and the development of innovative digital tools.
Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Director, Department of Media and Communications and the direct supervision of theย Head of Multimedia, the Multimedia Production Officer will be responsible and accountable for ย the management and technical oversight of Video, Photo and Audio within MCD and across IOM. These materials include video, motion graphics, photography and audio for social media channels, accompaniments to press releases and briefing notes, video and photo content from the field, infographics and presentations.
Coordinate and oversee MCDโs audio-visual teamโs workflows and audio, video, podcast, animation, and photo outputs.Coordinate and oversee MCDโs audio-visual multimedia studio.Provide technical oversight and feedback for global audio-visual products before dissemination from HQ and the field.Provide technical advice on best practises and coordinate technical input for video, and audio strategies into global communications plans.Provide video, audio and editing trainings to staff in the Regional and Country Offices worldwide to improve their video, video editing and audio outputs. In close collaboration with MCD photographer, deliver similar training on photography outputs.Provide audio-visual studio set-up and management training to ย staff in ย the Regional and Country Offices worldwide where appropriate.Capture and edit IOM activities and live events for institutional, Executive Office as well as public facing promotional content in video, audio and photo format.Capture high quality video, audio and photo format content in HQ and the field for Global Communications priorities, including podcast format.In ย collaboration with MCD units, oversee, capture and produce high quality video, audio and photo format content in HQ and the field for various IOM Departmentsโ Communications priorities.Propose, prepare and/or review short scripts and storylines for audiovisual content to be disseminated on the IOM Global website and social media channels.Develop and maintain user-friendly guidelines for the collection and post-production of video, audio, and photo content by IOM staff worldwide, such as informed consent and date protection, copyright and technical production guidance.Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Education
Masterโs degree in Journalism, Media or Communications, Photography or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or,University degree in the above fields with seven ย years of relevant professional experience.

Experience
Experience in capturing video, photo and audio content in a studio setting;Experience in capturing video, photo and audio content at live events and live video streaming;Experience in capturing video, photo and audio content in on assignment/ in field operations;Experience in sound design, mixing and SFX editing;Experience in editing and producing video and photo content;Experience in script writing;Experience in content production planning and strategic planning;Experience in guiding and advising staff on audio visual content production to improve skills;Experience working within UN settings;Experience in managing teams; and,Experience in managing service providers and freelancers.ย

Languages
For this position, fluency inย English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.
