Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall administrative supervision of the Chief of Mission, and in close coordination with all relevant stakeholders, the Senior Protection Coordinator (SPC) will lead the Protection Unit (PU), provide thematic guidance, develop and manage IOM Tunisia Country Officeโs (CO) protection portfolio, and exercise technical, operational, financial and administrative management responsibility for projects and/or programmes in coordination with the relevant Programme Managers. The SPC will also develop and manage the implementation of the country protection strategy.ย

Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
Masterโs degree in Social Sciences, Political Science, Law, International Relations, Conflict Studies, Economics, Development Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution with seven years of relevant professional experience; orย ย University degree in the above fields with nine years of relevant professional experience.ย ยExperience
Experience in the field of migration, migrant assistance and protection (including specific experience Migrants and Refugee Protection);ย Demonstrated experience in implementing and supervising case management programmes;ย Experience in program management in resource-constrained settings; Experience in emergency operations and liaison with Governments, other UN and non-UN humanitarian actors; ย Experience in the field of migration, including operational and field experience, is required; and,ย Experience and knowledge working on protection and/or in mixed migration contexts. ยย

Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish)
For this position, fluency in English and French is required (oral and written).ย
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
