Under the overall supervision of the Head of MHD, and the direct supervision of the Senior Project Associate Migration and Health the successful candidate will be responsibleย to supportย the, implementation, and reporting of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities in different sites in Tunisia, while liaising with health and MHPSS teams, andย following-up ย the MHPSS case management system for referrals.
The MHPSS associate will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:ย
- Assist the Senior Project Associate Migration and Health inย the implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting (internally and externally) of MHPSS activities in different sites.ย
- Support theย organization ofย the routine MHPSS needs assessments and program reviews to inform interventions,ย ensure successful implementation and donor compliance.
- Support the internal coordination and follow-up the work of the MHPSS team on different sites.
- Support the close coordination between MHD and other units related to MHPSS activities, especially protection.ย
- Periodically support theย reviewย of the M&E systems for MHPSS programming, including supporting the development of M&E tools, reporting mechanisms, and analysis of program data and impact.ย
- Support in MHPSS programmingย toย identify gaps and opportunities, andย to developย activities that effectively meet beneficiaries needs, the changing context, and other factors.ย
- Provide operational support to buildย the accountability system for the MHPSS program, including the incorporation of feedback mechanisms for beneficiaries and staff.
- Support in building MHPSS capacities of the staff,ย by organizingย capacity buildingย activitiesย in line with the missionโs strategic objectives.
- Compile beneficiariesโ MHPSS assessment, maintain and update the beneficiary database while adhering to IOM data protection standards, and ensure that all assistance is recorded in the IOM data collection system (MIMOSA), the IOM health team tracking system, and donor matrices.
- Support the organizationย and logistics forย awareness and promotion sessions on mental health and psychosocial well-being for beneficiaries in collaboration with regional and local partners and government stakeholders.ย
- Support the organization andย logistics ย of training and awareness sessions on the mental health and psychosocial well-being of migrants for IOM partners in Tunisia.
- Undertake duty travel as required.
- Perform such any other relevant duties that may be assigned.
EDUCATION
- Bachelorโs degree in Clinical Psychology or a related field from an accredited academic institutionย with threeย yearsย of relevant professional experience; or
- High School diploma with fiveย years of relevant professional experience
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in humanitarian work, international development, public health, and MHPSS, including in emergencies and in conflict settings.
- Experience in delivering trainings on MHPSS-related topics is required (including capacity building of high-level government counterparts and frontliners).
- Knowledge of and experience of using IASC MHPSS and GBV/CP guidelines and best practices as part of their previous work experience.
SKILLS
- Good drafting skills and clear oral communication.
- Strong knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.
- Knowledge of MHPSS Case Management and Integration of mental health into Primary Health Care approachesย is an advantage.
- Experience in working in public health system is a plus.ย
- Experience with international organization and UN agencies is a plus.ย
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within different cultural environments.
- Ability to work within a team structure or in isolation, flexible, and can cope with stressful workloads and working with limited resources.
- Ability to travel on short notice to project sites among others.
