Are you looking for an exciting opportunity at the heart of an ambitious fusion energy project? Join our Assembly and Commissioning Support Division (ACSD) within the Engineering Service Department (ESD) as a Mechanical Technician, Assembly.
As Mechanical Technician, Assembly, your goals will include:
Providing technical support and guidance during assembly/installation preparation and execution phases for the assigned scope of activity, allowing all stakeholders to perform work in a safe and qualitative manner. Contributing and ensuring deliverables are produced according to project schedule and budget, within a quality-assured environment that requires rigor and a systematic way of working. Developing, under the leadership of your discipline manager, your skills and experience for the benefit of the Project.
The Assembly and Commissioning Support Division aims to plan and perform the assembly of the machine and the plant systems, perform site coordination and in-field engineering support to installation activities and perform the component/system commissioning.
The ESD provides the required skilled engineering resources or services, which are necessary for the successful completion of the ITER Project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Produces and reviews technical documentation and contributes to the development of assembly plans and procedures for the assigned scope of activity. Reviews detailed workshop drawings or installation procedures, Inspection & Test Plans issued by the installation Contractor. Contributes to the development and follow-up of assembly tools and mock-ups which are required for the execution of the scope of activity. Follows-up qualification programs required for the on-site installation works. Provides technical support during the assembly, installation and commissioning activities for the components, equipment and systems within the assigned scope of activity. Collaborates in the investigations and troubleshooting of assembly/installation issues.
Additional Responsibilities
Applies relevant Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality Control (QC) requirements and standards for tools, components and systems, in close relation with the Quality Management Division (QMD). Contributes to on-site supervision/surveillance of the works. Ensures preservation requirements for the scope of activity are defined and implemented during Assembly/Installation phase.

Experience & Competencies
Essential:
Proven experience technically supporting the design, manufacturing, assembly and installation of complex mechanical systems and associated tools within international environments or projects. Mechanical Engineering: Knowledge, capability and practices involving the manufacturing, assembly, construction and testing of systems, associated with mechanical equipment, tooling and mock-ups. Assembly and Installation: Practical experience in supporting activities associated with manufacturing, assembling, aligning and positioning large, manufactured components and systems at designated locations. Experience working in environments requiring high-level cleanliness. Practical knowledge of health and safety and environmental protection regulations on a construction site. Communicates Effectively: Ability to facilitate dialogue with a wide variety of contributors and stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: Proposing changes to processes and systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity over time. Quality Management Systems (QMS): Apply the applicable procedures related to your field of activity.
Desirable:
Codes & Standards: Understanding and applying industry, discipline or job-specific codes, standards and regulations to ensure that products, services, and processes comply with applicable requirements, and legal frameworks. Experience in fabrication and welding techniques and relevant applicable codes. Managing Complexity and Problem Solving: Ability to analyze multiple and diverse sources of information to understand/define problems accurately before moving to proposals. Organizational Savvy: Maneuvering comfortably through complex policy, process, and people related organizational dynamics. Qualifications
Essential:
Bachelorโs degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering. The required education degree(s) may be substituted by extensive professional experience involving similar work responsibilities and/or additional training certificates in relevant domains.
