Result of ServiceUnder the guidance and direct supervision of the Project Manager of the Eswatini Livestock Value Chain Development Project (ELVCDP) and the National Operations Manager the Livestock Business Expert will be expected to complete the following tasks. 1. Effective development, coordination and management of partnerships โ€ข Manage the coordination of activities in the ELVCDP work plan to effectively im-plement with MSMEs, BSOs and Financial Institutions involved in the livestock sector, focusing on value addition and or processing โ€ข Coordinate and support Identification of capacity needs for MSMEs, BSOs and Fi-nancial Institutions (FIs) through individual engagement โ€ข Develop common approaches for stakeholder engagement in close coordination with the National Operations Manager between the three Eswatini projects, EPA, Jobs and Growth and ELVCDP. 2. Implementation of MSME, BSO and FI capacity development activities. โ€ข Draft partnership agreement(s), (e.g. Memorandum of Understanding) with poten-tial project partners for collaboration under the ELVCDP Coordinate and support capacity development activities delivered by external con-sultants, experts and development partners focusing on (but not limited to) the fol-lowing; o Value addition o Processing o Product and market development o Implementation of quality standards and food safety requirements o Business skills o Access to finance/investment o etc ยท Gather feedback through stakeholder engagement and identify scope for im-provement following project activities. โ€ข Prepare briefs as and when required for project activities 3. Monitoring and reporting โ€ข Review content and quality/accuracy of project reports and have them ready for M&E reporting. Work LocationHome-based (Eswatini) Expected duration12 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations. ITC is a development agency that is fully dedicated to supporting the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). ITCโ€™s mission is to foster inclusive and sustainable economic development and contribute to achieving the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development. ITC is currently working with the Ministry of Agriculture to implement the Eswatini Livestock Value Chain Development Programme (ELVCDP), whose objective is to improve the performance of the livestock value chain in Eswatini, with special emphasis on the beef and goat value chains. The main result areas of the program are: โ€ข To improve smallholder livestock productivity, with a more inclusive and sustainable management of assets at the community/household level. โ€ข Inclusive, efficient, and transparent VC actorsโ€™ alliances strengthened in the livestock value chain. โ€ข MSMEs/Social Enterprisesโ€™ competitiveness and value addition capabilities strength-ened more sustainably and inclusively. The Alliances for Action (A4A) methodology is being used to implement the programme. The A4A brings together public and private actors to promote competitiveness and income-risk diversification among many VC actors. The actors include MSMEs/Social Enterprises, producer associations, farmers groups, cooperatives, and smallholder farmers, improving sustainable commercial linkages between value chain operators at the national, regional, and international levels. Qualifications/special skillsBachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Economics, Business Administration, Rural Development, or a related field. Project management, agribusiness development, or value chain coordination, preferably in the livestock sector. Proven experience working with Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Business Support Organizations (BSOs), and Financial Institutions (FIs) in the agriculture/livestock sector. Experience in value addition, processing, and market development within livestock or ag-ribusiness sectors. Familiarity with development partner-funded projects, particularly EU, ITC, or other inter-national donors. Strong background in stakeholder engagement, capacity-building, and institutional part-nerships. Strong drafting, presentation, and reporting skills.
