The purpose of the Livelihood and Food Security (LFS) Technical Assistant position is to assist and implement the day-to-day activities of all the LFS projects in the East Area Office (EAO).
Generic responsibilities:
- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
- Assist and implement all the activities in all LFS programming according to established plans of action
- Implement independently procedures and activities within core competency as delegated
- Responsible for organization and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards assigned
- Develop and maintain knowledge and skills required for the assigned area of work in which food security or similar humanitarian assistance is provided, to be most effective in assisting the project implementation and the team
- Use initiative in day-to-day problem solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities and standards for the area of work
- Ensure proper collection and filing of documents according to NRC requirements
- Promote and share ideas for improvement in own area of work
- Share knowledge and practical guidance with new team members to support onboarding process
Specific responsibilities:
- Participate in the organizing and conducting of the information sessions, assessments, field visits, etc. in targeted locations.
- Assist the LFS Officer with registration of project participants, including verification of needs based on home visits, and/or distribution of assistance in line with NRC policies and donor requirements.
- Assist in identifying and prioritizing the most vulnerable project participants and households eligible for project support based on defined vulnerability criteria.
- Ensure that Kobo forms are completed accurately, that data is entered correctly, and that participant lists and related documentation are stored securely in accordance with NRC data protection standards.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to the team, by preparing movement plans, internal requests, and documentation related to field activities.
- Takes active part in the preparation of monthly /quarterly/annual reports.
- Providing support on Community Feedback Mechanism (CFM): informing beneficiaries about the mechanism and available channels and participating in the review and follow-up of submitted cases.
- Responsible for delegated material and information resources such as shared equipment, databases, filing systems
- Coordinate with other departments to share information and disseminate best practices and lessons learned.
- Provide any kind of assistance across all LFS activities based on needs identified and assignments delegated.
Generic professional competencies:
- Degree in a relevant LFS field is desired, such as agriculture, nutrition, economics, social sciences, or business studies.
- Experience in working as a Project Assistant / Officer in a humanitarian / recovery context.
- Previous experience in working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Documented results related to the positionโs responsibilities.
- Fluency in both written and spoken Ukrainian.
- Knowledge of English is advantage
- Computer literacy.
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:ย
- Willingness to work in demanding, stressful situations under difficult living conditions with respect for basic security rules.
- Solid understanding and experience of crisis contexts and working in complex emergencies.
