ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

FHI 360โ€™s Crisis Response team has been responding to the humanitarian emergency in Tigray, Amhara, Afar, Somali Regions through an integrated Health, Nutrition, WASH, and Protection project to meet the critical needs of the conflict-affected population. FHI 360 aims to expand its reach to the Oromia Region, Negele Borena to provide humanitarian response to affected population and will be implementing the program with the Ethiopia-based national organization, Pastoralist Concern (PC).

POSITION OVERVIEW

FHI 360 is seeking a Liaison Assistant to work directly with and strengthen relationships with the Amhara regional, and zonal government stakeholders. Additionally, the Liaison Assistant will coordinate and work directly with area based coordination platforms in the region, community, implementing partners and other line offices.

The Liaison Assistant will coordinate all of the partnership and government interactions for the Integrated Services for Humanitarian Implementation โ€“ Ethiopia III (ISHI-E III) project. The Liaison Assistant will be in charge of working with regional, and zonal government offices โ€“ such as Amhara region, Disaster Risk Management Commission (EDRMC) Regional Technical Bureaus (health, water, women/childrenโ€™s affairs), BOFED/ZOFED, and others โ€“ to develop and approve MOUs and other project agreements. As such, the Liaison Assistant will closely collaborate with the National and Subnational government offices, U.S. State Department supported implementing partners, Non-U.S. implementing partners through active participation in various Technical Working Groups and Humanitarian Clusters so that ISHI-E III project activities are in line with government and donor priorities. The Liaison Assistant will also coordinate and lead report submissions to government partners and the donor. The role is based in Bahirdar, but may require travelling to the project's implementation woredas, zonal capital and etc. The Liaison Assistant will report to the FHI 360 Ethiopia Crisis response and resilience Partnership, grants, reporting and liaison coordinator .
