PIH currently has implementation programs in Haiti, Rwanda, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Peru, Mexico, Russia, Sierra Leone and Navajo Nation. Through our partnership with Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Womenโs Hospital, we support a wide range of programs in dozens of other countries around the world.
Our Work In Sierra Leone:
Partners In Health (PIH) began supporting the government of Sierra Leone in response to the Ebola epidemic in October 2014. Recognizing the large need for continued investments in the health system after Ebola, PIH is committed to long-term health system strengthening in support of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS), guided by the same principles as our emergency response and our work around the world: public sector accompaniment, integrated and comprehensive services, social justice, nimbleness and flexibility, partnership, community ownership, and evidence-based interventions. In the aftermath of the epidemic, PIH is committed to supporting the delivery of comprehensive health services in Sierra Leone, from the community level to the health center and to referral hospitals.
Position Overview
Partners in Health Sierra Leone (PIH-SL) seeks a dynamic, professional IT Assistant who will support the day-to-day IT activities at the KGH and Maternal Center of excellence (MCOE). He will provides first-level technical support, maintains IT infrastructure, and assists in IT projects. The role requires close collaboration with the IT Officer, IT manager especially in covering various site locations as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
- Provide first-level technical support, resolving hardware/software issues.
- Assist with computer, printer, and peripheral device setup.
- Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or in-person. (add helpdesk related support)
System Maintenance & Compliance:
- Perform routine system maintenance, software updates, and hardware checks.
- Ensure IT systems comply with organizational security policies.
- Monitor IT systems, escalating critical issues as necessary.
User Training & Documentation:
โข Provide basic training on IT tools and security best practices.
โข Assist in developing user guides and IT documentation.
Inventory & Asset Management:
- Maintain IT equipment and software inventory.
- Assist with procurement and asset tracking.
- Laptop deployment and maintaining standardization
IT Projects Support:
- Assist with network upgrades, system migrations, and new software deployments.
Document IT workflows and procedures.

Education and Work Experience Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in IT.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows OS, and basic networking.
- Taking on tasks as directed
