Result of ServiceThe ultimate goal is to provide comprehensive IT services and technical support for the ongoing activities of the GFC Secretariat, ensuring smooth operations for key initiatives such as the Open-Ended Ad Hoc Group on Measurability and Indicators, webinars, hybrid meetings, and the transition of the GFC website to the UNEP.org platform. This includes collaborating with UNEP officials to assist with preparatory work for a reporting tool to monitor progress and impact under the Global Framework's Measurability structure, potentially developing a โuse caseโ study for a new data exchange platform. Additionally, support will be provided for the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) meeting, in June 2025, covering on-site technical preparations, video streaming, IT setup, network testing, and liaising with local technicians, while also ensuring the intranet is updated with meeting documents. Work LocationRemotely and Office based Geneva Switzerland Expected duration7 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuring the relevant GFC Secretariat meeting, the consultant will support the meeting through IT assistance prior, during and after the meeting including the updating and maintenance of the intranet, uploading documents and updating event pages and other support to necessary IT meeting services. Undertaking preparatory work together with the GFC secretariat and other UNEP officials as appropriate to support some scoping work on a reporting tool to facilitate the reporting and monitoring of progress and impact of the Global Framework. The work will include engaging with the digital team at UNEP with the possible development of a โuse caseโ study to support a new platform for data exchange. Qualifications/special skillsA University degree in information technology, computing, communications or other relevant field with a corresponding suitable proven professional experience is required. A secondary school diploma in combination with five (5) years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of university degree. Experience in the technological support for international meetings A specially designed intranet system; excellent communication skills.
