The Financial Institution Group (FIG) is one of IFCโs key Departments responsible for a significant portion of IFCโs business volume (approximately 40%), profitability, and development impact. FIG engages in a wide range of sub-sectors including Microfinance, SME, Gender, Climate, Insurance, Capital Markets, Housing, Distressed Assets, and other areas, with both investment and advisory services delivered globally to IFCโs clients through IFCโs global network.ย FIG has three main objectives: 1) financial inclusion 2) servicing the real economy and 3) mobilizing third-party resources.ย ย ย
The FIG team is seeking an Investment Analyst to be based in Kathmandu, Nepal, eager to work with our specialized investment division to play a key role in deal generation, investment transaction execution, and portfolio management. Successful candidates will join IFC as an Investment Analyst on a three-year-term contract extendable to a maximum of five years.ย ย
Roles and Responsibilities
โข ย Executing rigorous analysis including comprehensive due diligence and financial modeling.ย ย โข ย Analyze financial statements and projections, build financial models, and run sensitivities.ย ย โข ย Ensuring the highest standards of portfolio data accuracy and preparing monitoring reports.ย ย โข ย Prepare analytical sections of country and sector strategies and client pitchbook.ย โข ย Assisting in the design of sector and country strategies; crafting client presentations.ย ย โข ย Prepare sector mapping to target potential clients and business opportunities.ย โข ย Pinpointing business prospects via sector exploration and reaching out to promising clients.ย โข ย Engaging with internal teams and clients on data inquiries, document scrutiny, and financial statement evaluations.ย ย โข ย Crafting essential documents for our investment/advisory boards, upholding IFC's stringent guidelines.ย
Selection Criteria
โข ย Bachelor's degree in domains like business, finance, economics or pertinent industry areas. Masterโs degree preferred. A CFA designation will be a plus.โข ย At least 3 years of relevant experience in commercial banking, investment banking, private equity, project finance, or financial consulting, etc.ย โข ย Ability to conduct market and industry research and analysis.ย โข ย Mastery of financial statement analysis and financial models.ย โข ย Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, thoughtful scenario analysis, and diligence in the quality of oneโs own work.ย โข ย Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.ย โข ย Genuine dedication to development and to the World Bank Group and IFCโs mission, strategy, and values.
