Context In close collaboration with national authorities through the project “Promotion of the integration of the refugee population into the labor market” IOM aims at promoting the integration of the refugee population into the labor market, through:
a) the further development of a stable, effective, flexible and adapted approach enabling beneficiaries through vocational trainings, Greek language courses and traineeships to facilitate labour market more easily and better prepared, and
b) the implementation of complementary and interconnected activities regarding the proper preparation of beneficiaries, building up their employability skills and enabling well organized cooperation with businesses and other stakeholders.
Under the overall supervision of the Project Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Interpretation Coordination Focal Point, the successful candidate will support with the outreach and interpretation activities inside the accommodation facilities in the assigned area of responsibility.
- Assist project team for the field visits, meetings and communication with beneficiaries.
- In close coordination with National Project Coordinators, plan and implement operational plans for the interpretation needs, with the specific focus on outreach activities, vocational trainings, traineeship related processes.
- Provide interpretation support for the traineeship components and vocational trainings, including written translations of the needed documents.
- Assist beneficiaries with relevant information and support when needed.
- Provide regular inputs to the Information Management Assistant in the CO for the project- related data collection for the interpretation services.
- Support beneficiaries with interpretation in communicating with the service providers under the traineeship components.
- Carry out regular visits to the accommodation sites to inform beneficiaries of the upcoming events under the project.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned. Education
- University degree in Languages or Social Sciences from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
- High school degree/certificate with four years of relevant professional experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Experience
- Experience in working in a migration/refugee setting would be considered as an advantage;
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems. Skills
- Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, writing and presentations skills;
- Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles;
- Valid driver’s license with at least five years driving experience is an advantage. Languages
- Fluency in English and Greek (written and oral) is required.
- Fluency in Farsi (written and oral) is required. IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
