ILO Internship Programme provides an opportunity for talented individuals to:
(a) increase understanding of relevant issues at the international level by involving them directly in the work of the Office and the application of ILO principles, programmes and strategies;
(b) gain practical experience with the ILO directly related to their field of study.
The internship programme is not intended to lead to a career in the ILO. There should be no expectation of further employment at the end of the internship.

Introduction
The International Labour Organization is the specialized agency of the United Nations which seeks the promotion of social justice and internationally recognized human and labour rights.
The ILO has a unique tripartite structure with workers and employers participating as equal partners with governments in the work of its governing organs. The Decent Work Team/Eastern Europe and Central Asia coordinates the ILO activities in the countries of the sub-region.
Within the DWT/Eastern Europe and Central Asia , the Enterprise Development and Green Jobs Senior Specialist leads and coordinates the delivery of evidence-based policy advice, tools and methods in the area of enterprise development, climate change, green jobs and just transition in the countries in the sub-region. The area of work measures and monitor the employment and decent work methods on climate change and sustainable development policies, promoting green jobs, the implementation of the ILO 2023/111 Resolution and Conclusions on Just Transition, and capacity development of ILO staff and constituents in the area of enterprise development and climate change.
The intern will be integrated in the team of the area of work and will be supervised by the Enterprise Development and Green Jobs Specialist based in Budapest in coordination with the National Coordinator for Uzbekistan based in Tashkent and relevant Technical Specialists of DWT/CO-Moscow.
The incumbent will participate in all activities of the SDG Joint Fund Just Transition project with UNECE and UNDP. S/he will also participate in activities related to the Ministry of Foreign Affairsโ and Ministry of Labourโs Green jobs Centresโ initiative. S/he will also contribute to the Regional Office Europe and Central Asia Knowledge Hub on Just Transition.
Required profile
Education
Area of studies: social science, environmental policy and sciences or employment-related degree or international relations.
Applicant should currently follow a course of study (last year of Master degree or above), or have completed studies within 12 months prior to this application.
Experience
Some relevant work or internship-related experience in the compilation of economic, environment and labour market statistics and research and quantitative analysis of labour markets and/or related area(s) would be an advantage.
Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and statistical software such as Stata or SPSS.
Languages
Excellent written and spoken English and Uzbek languages (mandatory). Russian language would be a distinct advantage.

Selection process:

Stipend:
As an intern in the field, you will receive a monthly stipend from the ILO based on the cost of living in the area of the duty station, unless you receive funding through another institution (for example your university or a foundation). If you receive partial funding, ILO will cover the difference to ensure you receive the appropriate stipend per month. Your travel to the duty station will be at your own expense.
Insurance:
Please note that the ILO does not take responsibility for any costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the internship. You will be responsible for your own insurance coverage for illness and accidents for the duration of the internship at the duty station (whether Geneva or the field).
