BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DIVISION:
The Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) is part of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). OIGIโs mission is to conduct inspections and investigations into allegations of wrongdoing and misconduct. The purpose of an investigation is to establish facts and provide sufficient evidence and analysis to determine whether a reported allegation has occurred, and if so, to enable WFP management to take appropriate action against the responsible persons or entities.
OIGI investigations may involve WFP personnel, cooperating partners, vendors, and other external parties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in integrating AI services into investigative processes and support the development of AI and machine learning models on a Microsoft Azure platform.
Contribute to coding and scripting tasks using Python, Java, and HTML to automate workflows and enhance data processing capabilities.
Design automation and streamlining processes using Microsoft Power Automate and Azure Logic Apps.
Support API integration to ensure seamless connectivity between various software applications and platforms.
Assist in the development of projects utilizing Microsoft Azure services for AI model deployment and cloud resource management.
Participate in data analysis and interpretation, assisting in generating insights and reports from AI model outputs.
Document development and integration processes to ensure clear records for future reference and audits.
Build mapping and processing workflows to improve operational efficiency.
Perform other related duties as required.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme (for example, Bachelorโs degree) from a recognized university and have completed at least two years of the programme; OR
Be currently enrolled in a graduate programme (for example, Master degree); OR
Be a recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme);
Classes attendance in the last 12 months of enrolment in a recognized university.
Excellent written and spoken English is required (proficiency/level C). Working knowledge of another official UN language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian plus Portuguese) is an asset.
TRAINING COMPONENTS
Throughout their assignment WFP interns have access to an industry leading learning platform, weLearn. Depending on opportunities and availability of funds, he/she may participate in WFP workshops or seminars, as appropriate.
LEARNING ELEMENTS
By the end of the assignment, the intern will have gained valuable, hands-on experience working with advanced AI concepts and technologies in a real-world professional setting. They will develop technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and gain insight into how AI can be applied securely and ethically in complex operational environments.

The experience will help interns refine their career direction and prepare for future roles in the rapidly evolving fields of AI, data science, and digital innovation.
INTERNSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1,000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment.
WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, VISA requests and related costs.
WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
WFP will recognize candidatesโ educational credentials from recognized institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education.
Sons, daughters, brothers, or sisters of current WFP employees are not eligible to apply.
