Introduction

Post Title: International Consultant: Capacity Building of Journalists in Investigative Journalism in South Asia

Project Name: Governance and Peacebuilding Team, Anti-Corruption and Rule of Law in South Asia Project, UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub

Country of Assignment: Remote/ Home-based, with a possible travel to Nepal.

Duration of Assignment: Tentative June 2025 to October 2025 for maximum of 40 working days

The UNDP Anti-Corruption and Rule of Law in South Asia Project (2025–2028) supports justice reform and anti-corruption efforts in Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. It focuses on enhancing media and civil society capacities, aligning legal frameworks with UNCAC, and promoting gender-responsive justice systems. A key priority is strengthening investigative journalism to expose corruption and boost transparency, amid rising threats to press freedom. This initiative aims to empower journalists, foster accountability, and support sustainable development through improved governance and integrity. UNDP currently requires the services of an individual on this consultancy assignment.
