Project Management Support Officer (P2 UN Grade equivalent)
Under the direct supervision of the Emergency Coordinator and in close collaboration with the Planning and Monitoring; Gender and Social Inclusion; and Integrated SRHR units, the consultant will provide high-quality project management and M&E support.ย

Job Purpose:
To respond to these challenges, UNFPA has secured multi-year funding from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to implement a project from 2024 - 2027 focused on life-saving and early recovery services. To ensure effective project implementation, monitoring, and reporting, UNFPA is recruiting a qualified Project Management Support Officer. The consultant will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, but will be part of the South Sudan Country Office.ย
You would be responsible for:
Project Management
โข ย ย ย ย Coordinate quarterly planning of activities and budgets in collaboration with implementing partners.
โข ย ย ย ย Prepare regular situation updates, quarterly progress reports, and donor briefings.
โข ย ย ย ย Contribute to the drafting of concept notes, inter-agency plans, and project proposals supporting humanitarian preparedness and response.
โข ย ย ย ย Provide technical guidance and ongoing support to implementing partners and stakeholders.
โข ย ย ย ย Participate in (virtual) review meetings and present key lessons learned.
โข ย ย ย ย Support the preparation of annual work plans, budgets, and other programmatic documents.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
โข ย ย ย ย Design and implement a comprehensive M&E plan aligned with UNFPA and KOICA requirements and project log-frame.
โข ย ย ย ย Develop standardized M&E tools and templates for use across project sites to measure the project results and satisfaction of beneficiaries with project results.
โข ย ย ย ย Lead routine monitoring of project implementation against targets and key performance indicators.
โข ย ย ย ย Coordinate and support regular field monitoring visits to assess project quality and progress, document lessons learned from the visits and track the implementation of outcomes from monitoring visits.ย
โข ย ย ย ย Support mid-term and end-of-project evaluations, and performance review exercises.
โข ย ย ย ย Lead data collection, validation, and analysis to inform project adjustments and learning.
โข ย ย ย ย Document lessons learned and integrate them into planning and reporting cycles.
โข ย ย ย ย Represent UNFPA in relevant coordination meetings, workshops, and relevant fora, as assigned.
Data Management and Reporting
โข ย ย ย ย Establish and maintain a project monitoring database aligned with country office monitoring systems.
โข ย ย ย ย Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to generate actionable insights.
โข ย ย ย ย Support timely preparation of donor reports with quality M&E inputs and visualizations.
โข ย ย ย ย Develop knowledge products such as case studies, learning briefs, and human-interest stories to capture project impact.

Qualifications and Experience:ย
Education:ย ย
โข ย ย ย ย Advanced university degree (Masterโs or equivalent) in Project/Programme Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Health, Statistics, Demography, Social Sciences, or a related field.
โข ย ย ย ย A first-level degree combined with additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree
Knowledge and Experience:ย
โข ย ย ย ย Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project management and M&E in humanitarian or development contexts.
โข ย ย ย ย Strong proficiency in data collection, analysis, and visualization using tools such as SPSS, Stata, R, or Power BI.
โข ย ย ย ย Demonstrated experience supporting SRH and GBV programming is highly desirable.
โข ย ย ย ย Familiarity with donor reporting standards, particularly KOICA, is a strong asset.
โข ย ย ย ย Experience working with UN agencies or international NGOs is preferred
