Setting and Reporting This internship is located in the Secretariat of the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking in Persons (UNVTF) managed by the Co-financing and Partnership Section (CPS), Public Affairs and Policy Support Branch (PAB), Division for Policy Analysis and Public Affairs (DPA), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Vienna, Austria. The internship is for six (6) months with a desired starting date of July 1, 2025. The position is UNPAID and full-time, i.e. five days (40 hours) per week under the supervision of a staff member in the receiving department or office. Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Section and the External Relations Officer, the intern will: โข Support the development of a wide range of communication materials (e.g., print products, articles, human interest stories, video scripts) to highlight UNVTFโs impact, the work of grantees, and good practices in victim assistance. โข Gather relevant content and raw materials from grantees and civil society partners to produce impact stories and innovative case examples from the field. โข Manage digital communications, including drafting, scheduling, and monitoring content for UNVTFโs social media channels (X/Twitter, Facebook) and regularly updating and maintaining the UNVTF website. โข Assist in the full cycle of the UNVTF Call for Proposals, including preparation of the Terms of Reference and guidelines, launch coordination, application screening, and shortlisting. โข Track grantee progress and monitor compliance with reporting requirements to ensure timely and quality submission of narrative and financial reports. โข Serve as a point of contact for grantees, responding to queries and providing guidance on UNVTF procedures and reporting standards. โข Coordinate routine administrative tasks such as travel arrangements, meeting scheduling, procurement support, and filing of documentation. โข Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of programme-related correspondence, agreements, reports, and contact databases. โข Support the planning and execution of UNVTF events, including workshops, stakeholder consultations, and coordination meetings, by providing logistical and administrative support such as scheduling, participant communication, documentation, and on-site coordination. โข Draft, edit, and update project reports, briefing notes, donor reports, and other communication outputs related to UNVTF activities. โข Assist in the preparation of funding proposals and donor correspondence. Qualifications/special skillsโข Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelorโs degree or equivalent). โข Be computer literate in standard software applications; โข Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and โข Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Masterโs or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have recently completed a Bachelorโs, Masterโs or PH.D.
