Assessing Options for Innovative Technologies in Water and Urban Development Projects
โข Exploring the role of innovative technologies in addressing water and urban development sector-related challenges.
โข Analyzing emerging trends and best practices in the water and urban development sector.
โข Contributing to the knowledge base of the WUD Innovation Center (WIC).
โข Research and documentation for ADB's Water Innovation Trust Fund (WITF)
โข Support the Accelerating Innovation and Digitalization (AID2) program2. Summary of Job Description
The intern will conduct research, literature reviews, and data analysis related to innovation in the water and urban development sector. The intern will also participate in an innovation sprint and may contribute to the Sectors Group-technical assistance (SG-TA) if a proposal is secured during the internship. Expected outputs include research reports, presentations, participation in innovation sprints, and contributions to SG-TA if applicableSpecific tasks to include:
a) Review and documentation
โข Conduct a literature review on innovative approaches, best practices, pilots and new technologies. Present findings in Knowledge Wednesday or Insight Thursday.
โข Document the outcomes and impacts of these innovations and ensure alignment with the goals of the Water Innovation Trust Fund (WITF).
โข Analyze and assess effectiveness and scalability for the AID program.
โข Contribution to the SG-TA, relevant to the TAโs needs. This could include work on data collection, literature review or initial stages of project development, depending on the timing and scope of the SG-TA.b) Innovation and Engagement
โข Identify and design an innovation sprint focused on a specific water and urban development-related challenge. The innovation sprint could be related to real challenges within ADB and the WUD's work.
โข Identify opportunities across social media for communicating WUDโs work to a younger audience.c) Templates and Forms
โข Design and develop standard templates and forms for WIC processes/requirements.
โข Ensure forms are user-friendly and easy to fill out3. Period of Assignment
Timing: 10 weeks

ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines5. Expected Outcomes
a) A review and data analysis of ADB water and urban development projects/ portfolio as well as support development of new project proposals including the development of the WUD Innovation Center.
b) Produce well-documented outcomes and impacts of innovative technologies and practices.
c) Participate in an innovation sprint, contributing to solutions development, and deliver final presentation.
d) Contribute to the development SG-TA proposal and implementation
e) Opportunity to present work in an ADB-wide forum and reports and presentations as needed for other WUD projects, that will form the basis of the final internship evaluation
f) Development of forms, templates and communication strategy for younger audience.Qualifications
6. Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in a Masterโs or Ph.D. program in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Economics, or other fields relevant to water resource management and urban development. Preference for candidates with an interest in innovation and new technologies.7. Relevant Experience and Other Requirements
โข Experience in research, data collection and analysis, and excellent communication skills are essential.
